Is this rune good for anything? I’ve collected a set. Should I keep it or purge it? I’ve been playing all classes and game modes. Just wondering what is the rune worth outside dungeons. Speaking of which, I have seen a mesmer using runes of the traveller and out-skipped a warrior in Arah p1 even though this mesmer was a total newbie.

My mesmers wear them on their WvW equipment, since I’m mostly running in public zergs, and it’s the most comfortable way for me to keep up with everyone without someone that’s giving me swiftness reliably. I also sometimes use those sets when doing map exploration on said mesmers, but that’s about it.

Well Guang would use it on his engi.

If you are into WvW then it’s a decent runeset for roaming on most classes because of the 6th rune bonus. It gives good mobility without having to sacrifice a utility- or traitslot for movement speed. Other than that I can’t really see any reason to use it.

In WvW, the rune has some use for Mesmers when roaming. The mobility of centaur runes is better, but that’s only when you’re not in combat. When in combat, some Mesmers may run the mender’s purity trait, so timing the heals for cleanse can easily be more important than to keep up the swiftness. You don’t have to worry abt that if you’re using traveler’s.

Yep, and that’s why these runes are useless in PvE. Now you can draw the conclusions you want about the person I mentioned earlier

edit: I guess his new choice is strength. for obvious reasons.

I feel Centaur runes are cheaper to use on Mes, when just running for long distances you can set healing mantra to autocast for perma swiftness.

+1 for centaur runes on mesmer. Trait harmonious mantras for an extra charge and you have tons of swiftness for those pesky Arah skips Just use temporal curtain first, since it’s swiftness doesn’t stack well if you already have some.
