Runes of Strength Over Scholar?
In all honesty for PvE I don’t see the point of spending over 70g just to replace scholar runes. If you’re going to use the runes for other situation as well then there’s some mileage.
I’d wait for the runes to at least be cheaper before getting rid of scholar. Right now the increase in DPS probably isn’t worth the gold spent to replace scholar runes.
Runes of Strength are only worth it if you generate a lot of might for your party. Elementalists, Engineers, and Phalanx Strength Warriors benefit the most from using Runes of Strength. Runes of the Ranger (surprise) are a good choice for rangers.
Strength runes are also good for solo situations when you can generate might for yourself, such as the 6/5/0/0/3 warrior build with GS + A/X.
Scholar is still the best bet if you play frequently with an organized group. Strength is beneficial for someone who is often PuGing and has broad shoulders upon which to carry a team.
Past that, it doesn’t matter for the rest of PvE.

+1’d hes got it right on the money.
Hoelbrak runes are very similar to strength if you want a budget alternative.
Game over, yo.
Strength runes have better use on a character that can consistently stack might. e.g., Elementalists.
Scholar would still be better for both Warrior and Ranger, especially if you’re following current meta build for the classes.

Strength runes on a warrior when running Phalanx is just as good as ele’s now in pugs. I say in pugs because if your running a organized group it’s still better to have eles stack might and allow warriors to just go full damage. It depends more on the build and situation and less on the class.
