Running dungeons for money, bannable?
Why would it be bannable? It was legal in GW1. However, it’s very risky.
What would be illegal is if you mass-kicked your party in order to make room to “carry” new people.

Well the only thing in the term of service that MAY relate is such:
You may not market, promote, advertise, or solicit within the Guild Wars 2 Game or on the official Guild Wars 2 websites.
However gw2lfg.com is not “within the gw2 game”, and players contacting me ARE the ones soliciting my services, are they not?

Risky how?

Of course not, everyone’s a consenting actor!

Some people seem to have an irrational disdain for commerce.
Like those people who whine about legendaries being listed on the TP.
Actually, I fail to see why it should be bannable. It was well spread in GW1 with “run Lornar Pass” or “run desert missions” etc …
If someone is good enough to be good enough to do solo content, they should not be punished.
However, if you kick people for that, yeah it’s highly bannable and well deserved.
Would you by any chance wanna carry me through Arah? for tips? =D
Paying a person for dungeon runner services illegal??? Nah, now if you were doing it with exploits there may be an issue there, but if you are basically a merc for hire. I see absolutely no problem with it and would encourage doing it.
Why can’t you just help people with dungeons without ‘tips’, You get enough money from the dungeon run themselves. I would probably block a person demanding money for helping people. As for against the rules, No I don’t believe it is a bannable offense.
• Have you heard of the city? The ancient uru? Where there was power to write worlds •
Saw some group running Arah path 4 yesterday advertising their services on gw2lfg 15 gold per spot. Made me laugh. People paying for it must be crazy. Once the January update fixes the bugs it won’t be such a roll of the dice for regular groups.
Personally I think people that buy these type of services are very lame unless they are trying to level and alt and don’t want to go through the hassle of repeating content.
What’s wrong with inviting people who haven’t done it before, and just telling them how to do it? We’ve done that loads of times, usually using TS/mumble or something.

That’s the point. Fixes take long to come and quite often :
1) They don’t come, you have to wait more weeks/months
2) They come, but they fail or cause other bugs which still lead to broken dungeons
The problem comes from this. If fixes were much faster to come, people could not even have a chance to “sell” that.
I think as long as the payment for services is using in-game currency then it is not Bannable. The moment where it’s in the real life money or stuff territory it’s against the rules. Don’t ever talk about, or accept IRL bribes or payment and I think you should be fine.
But this game and its rules are wierd sometimes. It clearly punishes players for “doing it wrong” but doesn’t do much in the way of telling players how to “do it properly” in-game. Stay smart. I guess.
In GW1 we often paid for run to places and other things. Heck i would pay for some Arah runs to save time on Arah if I ever wanted armor from it again.
Now as long as the payment is not done with real life currency, anet should not have reason to ban anyone for this. Also the only risk i can remember from gw1 was players not actually being able to do the whole run from point A to point B and not giving your money back.
