Running from trash in dungeons...
Yea, my “FARM” group love to do only AC, and only AC, cause they can skip all the trash group of monsters.
Because Arenanet doesn’t know how to prevent people skipping contents.
You know the funny part, when we die at boss and have to run back, we get bitten by those monsters we skip.
But I couldn’t blame them, the game encourage people to skip monsters.
Cause the pro’s can do these runs flawlessly and make 5g+ an hour by skipping these garbage trash that we already know we can kill. The only problem is when you bring pugs into the group and start doing it w/o making sure everyone is on the same page.
Hey OP, just voicing my opinion. There are people that have done the dungeon more time than they can count, there are people that are short on time, there are people who farm it daily, these are people that wants to get through them as fast as possible. There are also people playing for the first time and want to take it nice and slow.
And you know what, there is absolutely nothing wrong with people playing with people that want to play the content in the same way.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
1) running with a pug group, run with the common interest
2) if you want to run in a certain fashion, form your own group, voice it clearly
Here are examples of some of my LFG messages:
LF2M AC exp all 3 path fast run experienced char preferred
LF2M AC exp carrying low level alts, going to take it nice and slow.
I totally understand your frustration, but honestly, saying this as ‘leets’ doing something annoying is no different than ‘leets’ saying noobs don’t know how to play the game. The game is there for you to play your way, all sorts of people are there for you to team up with, take some initiative and you’ll be playing how you want to play.

I see…if finding group isn’t hard enough cause some people want to do this dungeon for exp and other want to do another dungeon for story and another want to do FOTM level 1 and other want to do FOTM level 4.
Now we also add another requirement “experienced vs. nice and slow”
Add more rocks to the scale i see?
Good Luck finding party.

Completely irrelevant argument, but since you quoted me, I’ll reply back.
Well, you have to make the choice yourself right? Do you want to play your own way, take more time finding people, or do you want to find a faster group, and just go with what the majority of people wants to do? I think that seems just a matter of personal choice you have to make regarding the situation really.
Do you know the difference between your reply and mine? I’m not saying there isn’t a problem, I’m presenting ways you can deal with it the way you see suit your own goal, and for the rest, you weigh it yourself. And you sir, are complaining the world isn’t perfect.
P.S I usually have no problem finding party.

If you want to kill trash just ask? If they say no you can always leave the party. A great thing about dungeons is that you can leave without hindering the people that remain, unless it’s your instance of course.
It is not really players fault but devs.
Ye i also hate this, how many time did i saw a guy from a group dead or at a checkpoint or somewhere on the path, and nobody can res him or the whole party have to reset for him, when they could have just killed the mob and took few minutes to do it. Just so silly… Not to mention they miss loot opportunity.
300 tokens for arah axe is what I was after most recently.
I dual wield axes. 600 tokens.
Do that without skipping certain areas will take years. The arah dungeon is already next to impossible to access. Why are you qqing about this? So Anet can nerf speed runs into the ground and add barriers of impossible to kill mobs?
Great idea OP. Fail/thread
The statement that they miss loot is in most cases not the case because you can do something else that gives the same or greater profit with the saved time. Adding trash mobs that don’t drop anything good is indeed a mistake if the meaning with dungeon is for them to be completed to a 100% every time but i don’t think a-net intended for us to do this. I would say that the trash mobs are a hinder we can deal with as we see fit (kill, run through, port etc).

Why do you assume the op wants to add to the problem? I have also run into groups like this, one kept crashing because they left the trash and then had to run through it and again left it. The next run when we took out the straight line trash we finished in about half the time. Arah is just spread out and horrible, you run more than you fight and most mobs are just hp. Add to that the fact it is not open very often and you have serious problems. They could give a boost to runs by ANet dropping some distance and trash and having a good smooth dungeon. Don’t see why the concept of hours long dungeon runs is considered fun.

i only clear when I know I have a group that can clean up trash mobs fast. other wise its skipping because its a waste of time, I want the tokens so i can do more interesting things.

I haven’t set foot in AC for a long time. So don’t know what’s happening there now. Of all the PuGs I have done, only one suggested we skip bridge in CoF 1. The idea was quickly shut down. But I have noticed people skipping more and more of TA. I don’t mind since I am not fond of the place but it isn’t cool to assume people know to run. Best to ask/make clear.
However, Anet has said they are okay with people skipping mobs/encounters. So…
