Nice run! Question: I thought 2 staff eles + PS warrior was better DPS then 1staff, 1 LH and ‘normal’ warrior. Is that not the case? Or does it depends on the length of the fights?

It’s a debated thing, I personally think LH+1staff is both more fun to play and higher dps. But you might notice that I’m always swapping in and out of strength runes while prestacking, I do this because otherwise we’ll drop to 18-21 might at a point early in the fight. For this reason there are many places where you would either just go 2 staff 1 phalanx for an easy uptime on 25 might or you just go strength runes for the fight itself.

Luckily though this dilemma won’t be a problem anymore after the patch as arenanet think it’s a good idea to completely butcher scepter based builds and buff the hell out of phalanx+staff.

Yea I’d been doing it for ages whenever I duo’d with Miku on stream, to be honest I never even knew how much time it saved, it was just more fun x)

Yeah I saw you switching a lot!
I really hope anet will think about the elementalist changes. I don’t want to run staff all the time :/ Maybe our elite specialization will be really fun to play though.

1.) For a record to be valid, the time must be faster than the current record displayed and the record must be accompanied by a video for evidence/proof; one point of view is sufficient.

then a ton of records would have to be denied since as soon as a person falls behind in a skip you’d have no footage of them doing the skip. And imo ‘at any point’ refers to time not to actual footage of everything.

I don’t see in the rules that you need more PoV if you split. It says you need at least 1 PoV.

There’s a huge difference between falling behind in a skip and having two completely undocumented skips.

We have no idea as to what the Thief or Mesmer is doing.

I trust SC and am good friends with Jerem. My concern isn’t whether or not I trust them, it’s simply just not following basic protocol.

You know very well this record follows the rules so stop being so salty :>. It happened to us to on CM P3 so just get over it.

Usually we need the extra PoV’s for splits. But the system is based on trust and its not like we have consistent rules which are stuck to completely anyway. If people genuinely have a problem with the record and think something fishy is going on then we can deny it. But i dont think thats the case this time so its fair to approve it.

If you have the other PoVs it would be nice to upload them though. :P

Idk, the time wasn’t that great, I only uploaded it because I didn’t want people to think a couple of days later we only did it to beat the other record.

My earlier message is by no means salty. If you do think I am “salty” you are misusing the phrase and misinterpreting what I am saying.

And no Deathly. This record does NOT follow the rules. You should understand them as you are an approver. As I have stated above, this record clearly violates 1.) c.

With that being said, I do not think for one minute that SC cheated or manipulated the run in any way, shape or form.

I am great friends with the majority of Snow Crows and they beat our time fair and square.

What you seem to fail to understand is that we as a records community need to maintain a system as well as a general structure. Spoj is correct in stating that our rules are flawed and that they are being reviewed. That does not mean that we can approve whatever we personally deem fit. SC is a great trustworthy guild, but what happens if a new record guild comes out and does the same? Do we ASSUME that there mesmer and thief didnt take advantage of not having to record their PoV?

I’m not one to start drama or call fellow approvers “salty”, so I’ll leave it at this.

We as record approvers serve the community via agree’d guidelines.

Lets keep it that way.

What you could do is send the PoVs as a PM to an approver (preferably one that is not ‘competitive’) so it is checked by an approver but you can still show something new when you reach your goal of whatever time.

Probably something that needs to be clarified to state that if at any time a player is offscreen from a POV, then their POV needs to be updated.

Well the question for this would be if the thief ever separated from the ele which has a POV to do a skip of some kind. The mesmer which is separated from the group does have a POV uploaded.

You can mostly tell if things are within the rules by watching the minimap and the buffs players have. So extra PoVs are mostly just to make it easier and confirm 100% that everything is fine. Old records on gwscr were always approved even if a split PoV wasnt available because it was easy to tell and there was trust.

Agree that people should be trusted and if someone complains you can examine it and see if there’s any evidence of it. Would make it easier to have the videos there though as 1.c does say if there is no video evidence of activities within the run then it will be denied. An argument can be made that there’ no video evidence when a split happens and there’s no POV showing it.

Some of this discussion is probably coming up now because of some rules being unevenly applied and things probably need to be clarified.

Deathly, at this point its not worthwhile for us to upload thief pov. Snow crows has beat us fair and square. (EU Exploits) Kidding.

Iris, the skip to alphard does and always has needed the runners PoV. There are an abundance of paths out of bounds that can be easily travelled to make the run faster.

It seems like lots of people are in favor to change the rules. I know there’s already been plans to clarify them.

Some clarification/removing of rules would be good.

I uploaded the wrong video kitten , but I guess only my skip is important since it’s the same in the 2 videos, I can pm my PoV to Deathly if you want

But Jerem, according to the rule you need to upload the thief’s pov as well. It may not be necessary for now but keep it in mind when you get a solid sub 6:40. You know, the rules are pretty clear!
