At the beginning of path 1 for SE, you fight a boss called “Nokk”. Now, people who have done SE path 1 before will know how frustrating it is to be knocked into lava, so I was just going to suggest a net be made around the area where we fight him? Otherwise it either results in a long battle if many people fall into the lava, or a complete wipe and reset.

I know how it feels as I’ve fell down many times. But think of it this way, there’s nothing really hard about that boss. There is condusion and stone but that’s it. I rather find it funny when I fall now.

Hopefully, mean while avoid the guy who fails to dodge that black projectile and gets that lengthy stun (it explodes at end knocking nearby guys around, I think).

That’s the whole point of the fight… the danger of falling in the lava. If you fall in the lava more then once it’s your fault because there is plenty of room to position yourself so you’re knocked back onto the connecting pathway on either side, or use stability a few seconds after someone gets stunned. Once you know that he knocks back then don’t stand where you can fall off.. not that hard.

What’s up with people wanting to take out any danger or strategy from a boss that requires them to do more then auto attack.

Yeah, normally I want to smack L2play guy in the head, but this one is ridiculous. Maybe we could buy a bubble wrap armor from the gem store that shields you from all damage during the game.

Nahhhh, keep it. It’s hilarious and the party usually cracks up at the guy who gets thrown into the lava.

You do understand that his name [Nokk] is a reference to what he actually does? I think this is quite funny. He’s one of the GW2 bosses that you can’t just kill mindlessly, at the beginning, at least.

Also, with some non-random positioning you should be able kill without getting nokked off.

Ps. We quite often do SE and seldomly get nokked of. If someone DOES get nokked off we just crack a joke or two. Fun for the whole group!

Fighting Nokk: since I did this path on a guardian and was warned beforehand, I went +80% boon duration and brought my best stability setup. That helped a lot. However, as I told my party members when I showed them the fast run: be directly down the ramp or directly up the ramp. Never put yourself between the lava and Nokk (or should I call him “knock”?). He takes awhile, but can be beaten as long as you position yourselves so he won’t Nokk you into the lava.

The only time I ever went in lava is when I hit 3 instead of 4 and Cyclone’d off edge….

Presumably since the dungeon was created.

He has an attack which places a red AoE circle around a player. This circle will follow that player around for a while, then knockback everyone in the radius.

It is a pretty easy attack to avoid. If the group wants to, you can also pull him back to the catwalk which has fences, or fight with your back towards the door on the opposite side.

I accidently rolled off the edge once when i dodged one of his attacks and didn’t realise how close to the edge i was, back rolled straight off the edge.. but on the plus side i did evade his attack.
