It doesn’t make any sense for those low level dungeons to scale players down to their level. It mess up many player’s build big time.
Please change all dungeons to level 80 and scale the low level players upward instead. Thanks.

Id actually support this. The problem is you would make the level requirement for dungeons redundant. You could go in at level 1 which wouldnt be great. But obviously you can kick people who try and bring an underleveled character.

Downscaling needs a change, because it scales all 3 stats of the armor down, but low level content is designed for armor with 1 or 2 stats, not 3. So cut down one or two stats or decrease them a bit more would put a high level char on the same level as a low level char. Which then means low level chars wouldnt be useless in dungeons, the only difference would be less trait points and a few less stat points because of missing traits.

Yes. It’s mostly level 80’s who do the dungeons anyway. The downscaling really messes with your build.

If a dungeon is labeled as 80 people won’t (in most cases) take people under level 80, even if they scale up.
The lower leveled dungeons are built for lower level players. Don’t change them based around max-leveled player.

This makes no sense, your stat balance remains the exact same and you keep all your lvl 80 traits. Nothing of your build changes. Raising all dungeons to 80 would just make it much harder for low lvls to run AC, CM, TA, SE.

I totally disagree with this idea.
Downscale does lower the stats you get from your equips, but that makes lower level items as efficient as lvl 80 ones.
By upscaling everyone, you’d create a system where people with non-80 gear would suck terribly, just because upscale doesn’t boost armor stats, only player’s
This would be a step in the right direction, but not enough. I suggested a more extreme solution here.

My crit chance would thank you immensely…. If that’s actually still a thing, getting a wrecked down scaled crit chance? I don’t even know anymore.
So long as we can see what people’s genuine level is so we can still kick sub 80’s.
Also CHIPS get on the Elementalist bandwagon would you, it’s the ultimate carrying class in AC (and anything else really to those who know how to FGS) and I got kicked from a “speedrun” for using a “bad profession”.

Of course they can enter. But how many groups would take them when it is labeled as lvl 80?
How many pre-lvl 80 did Playhouse? Or Molten Alliance Facility?
I have seen plenty of pugs where all classes are welcome. But the thing is that a lvl 30 player don’t have access to the same stuff as a lvl 80 player, thus he would be at a massive disadvantage in a lvl 80 dungeon, even if he was upscaled.
Based on my little experience with downscaling the difference is already quite big. On level 35 dungeon level 80 is only equal to level 35 if:
a) he doesn’t use any extra trait points
b) he only wears similar rarity as level 35 (mostly masterwork, maybe some rares)
c) level 35 has only level 35 equipment
Without running any numbers I would say properly geared level 80 does 50%-100% more damage.
But I will test this more today/this weekend and try to figure it out how it actually works.

I never had my build meesed up. I still have stats, traits, runes and weapons. The only thing that down scaling does is make all stats lower, to match the area you are in. It doesnt mess up builds if you ask me.

But it’s an exaggeration to say your zerk build is ruined, since you’ll still be doing more damage than if you were in PTV or Valk or anything else.

I would imagine it’s more like 100*35/80=43.75, now go look at the critdmg you could manage to stack at that level? Oh hey it’s still more.
cool agreed with OP, its about time the community wipe off that fake friendly face everytime they see an underleveled peep joined the group and making any kind of excuse to /kick
Why not just add another form of the dungeon that is exclusively 80.
Story – 30
Explorable – 35
Advanced – 80 (No scaling)
Put in additional rewards for Advanced or give more gold/tokens.
Most of the stats scale similarly (Power, Precision, Toughness Vitality, Healing Power, Condition Damage, Critical Damage). Game calculates your base stats for that level and then compares it to your base stats at your level. Then all your stats get scaled with that ratio.
At level 35 your base stats are 256 and at level 80 they are 916 so those stats get scaled down to 28%.
Rest of the stats like Condition Duration, Boon Duration and class mechanics stay same.
Defense from gear works bit differently. I’m still working on it but I can say that it scales same for every profession. Also level 80 Masterwork armor gives less defense than level 35 Masterwork armor.
