……..and start over, make new ones! dungeons atm are destroying a good game that’s been hard worked on. I really mean it just close them delete them and make some new ones taking all the feedback into consideration. I’d be happy to wait rather than put up with this.

quick edit: no amount of bug fixing will make these fun as i know there supposed to be fixed on Monday

these dunguens are hard for 5 randoms that dont know tactis.
How ever, 5 people that know how to play MMORG can develop tactics during boss fights and just wipe clean every dunguen atm. Where is the challange I remain to ask?

I agree. The dungeons as they set i do pug currently. Although before we get started we establish tactic’s and make sure everyone will listen as we go threw the zone. Of the ones i have tried i have never taken more than 8 deaths. And that was on just a stupid group that wouldent revive downed players. Not dead players downed.

The only time I die in a dungeon is when I’m teaching a new group that has never done it… Ok, I die a LOT in TA due to those god forsaken death blossoms respawning under me, but I have it on good authority that that’s being looked at atm.

The first time you go through, especially if it’s the first time for your group, then expedt to die. Expect to die over and over again. The next time through will be less painful, and the time after that even more so. If you give up before the first run is over and cry for nerfs then you are doing it wrong. Learn to adapt to the mechanics and you’ll enjoy the dungeons a hell of a lot.

These dungeons are designed under the pretense that difficulty is what makes things fun and interesting. This is a mistake. And when you finally throw in difficulty to make it feel like you’ve accomplished something by completing the dungeon, it becomes perfect.

It’s fine if you enjoy dungeons as they currently are, but Arena Net can do better. They’ve made an amazing game so far. The dungeons can be a lot more interesting.

I agree they can improve them. But till they remove the current bugs we dont even know how the dungeons are. Till those are fixed we cant give proper feedback on how to improve them. Some of the bosses are wonderful. Simple but yet wonderful. For example first boss in ac em. The guy that does the harpoon/spin. That fight keeps me on my toes with dodging and jumping and running all over the place as the boss does the same stuff to us. Feel kinda like fighting another player. But thats me personally. Fights like the ghost eater for example where its just burn burn burn. Oh look add’s, skill 5 gs to bring then im aoe down rince repeat is a bit old and cant help but feel maybe somethings broke as you never use the ‘traps’.

Given the premise of your entire thread is that dungeons are not fun for you…there is a simpler answer than changing an entire game to allow you to ‘have fun’.

The problem is puggers were advertised that they could do these dungeons and that their own made up class role would matter. they entered their first dungeon and realized that the only things that matter were stability, blind, dodge, and kiting skills. All those other roles and abilities out made little to no difference in how the enemy could be controlled.

The other problem is that the enemies are programmed to act jsut like they do in the world PvE, but were given stats that require “holy trinity” style gameplay to control them.

As a support engineer my job is to shoot and throw down regen and buffs. I have a decent amount of HP and toughness. Problems arise once a mob decides to aggro me. What can I do? well, I can’t do my job of buffing and healing my team. Now I have to spend the next 1 – 5 minutes kiting and self healing. If I mess up (by running out of space to move or not timing my cooldowns) then I will die in literally 3 hits. In a situation like that a tank is needed to pull aggro. Why? Because there is no way in hell I can solo kill this enemy nor can I take his damage while supporting my team.

Other problems come into play like spell effects not being clear. Especially for melee character who are in the thick of multiple layers of spells and effects. The stability stacking on bosses that is not clearly defined. No one has time to hover their mouse over a boss name to read the stability stack buff during combat. There’s also the problem of having absolutely no explanation about aggro in this game. Very few people know that toughness stat increases monster aggro chance. Then there’s the length of the dungeons and their reward systems.

There are a ton of problems that make these dungeons very unfriendly for average players.

Please link where it was said puggers could do the dungeons? It was always stated that dungeons were not for puggers.

One thing that I really liked about The Secret World was their dungeons. They had very little trash and most of the fights were bosses. It just makes more sense.

In GW2 certain trash pulls are harder than certain bosses but do not give equivalent rewards. I’m all for dungeon redesign that would put more emphasis on boss fights instead of trash mobs or give similar rewards for tough trash mobs as they do for bosses.

While i do agree the trash mobs get a bit um I guess old. What else are you going to do. In most cases your not ment to feel like a super human and be able to solo threw the trash on your own with a blindfold and your hands tied behind your back. Your ment to be mortal. Kinda the point of the dungeons. Now something i do wish they would do is just make all mobs mini bosses that way it feel more like im fighting other beings instead of mindless forum troll’s. Yes i went there as trash mobs for the most part kinda feel like it. But the trash is ment to be the time sink given so far a decent party can blow threw any boss i have seen in just a minite or two tops.

Also i seen what ya did there.

I should have asked this sooner but what exactly do you play? I play a hybrid guardian and have never felt like im throwing sponges. Granted sometimes i with my strikes showed a little more but only way i can see that is if they showed where my strikes landed and you saw the body being carved up. Which would be seriously cool but also a nightmare for the dev team to create.

Must be great having loads of friends who play Guild Wars 2, and a strong online network of people just waiting to play dungeons with you. After all it’s not about what YOU can do it’s about your team working as one. I’m happy for you to have that, i’m sure that despite the fact i’m probably just as skilled a player as you, you deserve that armour and I don’t. because you’re fortunate and your friends play.

Must be great having loads of friends who play Guild Wars 2, and a strong online network of people just waiting to play dungeons with you. After all it’s not about what YOU can do it’s about your team working as one. Actually i pug threw dungeons as i currently only have 4 people including my self playing the game. If your as skilled as me quit crying over it and do it. Its as simple as that.

Been a while since i played ranger. What kinda build? Glass cannon or you have some vit and armor?

I have to agree that dungeons in gw2 are quite ridiculous … : / It’s like 5 braindead ppl smashing their heads on 10 billions HP bosses with no strategy except trying to avoid red circles on the floor all the time. One word : Uninteresting
Trash pulls </> Bosses balance is awful.

Plus, CC’s are a joke, (10h poison, 10 sec stuns, fears…)

Melee fighters (thieves) are just not meant to be part of this game :
- most of the time can’t see anything since mobs/bosses are hidden under 350 layers of visual effects/particles. Seriously how are we supposed to notice ennemies’ animations if we can’t even see what’s happening behind this crappy fog-smoke-lightening-fire-water-poison ultra ugly mix ? Less is more guys… for god’s sake.
- always taking damage from nowhere so you end up playing 95% of your time with a freaking bow

Thieves are actually 95% ranger wanabe’s and 5% melee. That’s just terrible.

Difficulty ? No, we can clear every dungeons with pick up groups and have nothing to do anymore in 3 weeks.

I’d say Difficulty in gw2 is UNHEALTHY : Dungeons are easy, but they’re so badly designed that they become insanely hard at some points (eg : all that visual effects crap making the game way harder than it actually is for melee fighters but you know, just use a bow and all your problems are gone).

Bugs are normal in a new mmo but here … could fairly rename for Bugwars 2.

And finally, grinding like crazy for … stupid Skins ??? come on where’s the epicness here.

This game has the potential to be a truly awesome game but it’s just not at the moment.

Anyway I hope it will get better, cuz if it doesn’t gw2’s gonna end like SWTOR, in a few months.

GW2 deserves a lot better, cheers ANet.

These dungeons are designed under the pretense that difficulty is what makes things fun and interesting. This is a mistake. Boss fights, map layouts, and monster encounters that are fun and interesting make dungeons fun and interesting. And when you finally throw in difficulty to make it feel like you’ve accomplished something by completing the dungeon, it becomes perfect.

It’s fine if you enjoy dungeons as they currently are, but Arena Net can do better. They’ve made an amazing game so far. The dungeons can be a lot more interesting.

CoE and Arah are fine.

The other dungeons are lackluster, however. Which is a shame, because I really like their settings.

1.) Vanilla GW2, Dungeon WILL get better.

2.) its true that puggers wont have fun in Explorer Mode. Ran with my guild with team speak and didnt wipe but one time.

Like right now, trying to do COF on my war for first time… guess what ? We can’t zone in. This bug was in, like way back then, why the heck hasn’t this been fixed ? Ridiculous.

I didn’t mention any difficulty anywhere, 1 reply saying pugs and another saying it. I said Fun, big difference.

And the dungeons are fun for the crowd they were/are intended for. Most of the “Feedback” You see complaining about difficulty is infact by puggers which the dungeons were not designed for. You said they should listen to feed back. Well issue with that is the feedback is not by the intended crowd. Now those complaining about bugs. Thats completely different.

Really because my guild steamrolls dungeons without issue (gigantus included) and we all think the dungeons are a grindy chore, not fun.

Too bad 80% of the player base disagree with you even some of the non puggers think its pointless waste of time which lacks a good reward to effort ratio and full of bugs and broken mechanics you think it will be fun if majority of the players “move on” and leave the game?

Also point me to this “move on to another content” you mean the broken world events in the lvl 80 zones? 90% of the level 80 zones are broken so where should i go next? please point me the way ohh so mighty “PRO GAMER” my guess is you farmed CoF pre patch and got all the gear you want

And point me towards the part where they say that some parts of the game will not be accessible to puggers on the box of the game or the manual or the advertising they did, because if a person does not read the Guildwars 2 forums they will not find any information about ohh the dungeons are not meant for the casuals and even then you have to have that in mind and search for it, how many normal players are gonna think that “hmmm I am buying a new game I better read the forums and look to see if there are content that i won’t be able to play”

Too many fanboys defending a broken system isn’t going to help fix this game what will happen though is a small community of fanboys left if the game doesn’t get fixed

Oh, so you have statistical proof that shows 80% of the GW2 population agrees with you? I’d like to see that.

Edit: And, please list the 90% of the max level zones that are broken. I’ve managed to complete jsut about every event and have 100% map completion on all of them. Sure, some of the events were/are bugged but no where near 90% of the zones are anything near broken.

I read the forums and so many people complain that they have inactive guilds, its hard to find dungeon groups, even my own guild of 170+ maybe 20 people max are online and maybe a handful are willing to do the dungeons even though they risk being bugged and not properly rewarded, its like playing the lotto “maybe this run ill get 60 tokens or be fracked up and get 5 tokens”.

Again are you blind? Orr has tons of broken events that won’t reset (Balthazar, Grenth, Lyssa are the ones i’ve seen) escort quests that won’t reset, defend events that won’t reset, skills quests that are bugged, even Jormag has been broken for days on my server im not sure if its a matter of a server problem but so many events are broken on my server.

Again being a fanboy and closing your eyes to these broken crap is not going to help better this game

Kurz, the forums are full of the vocal minority. It’s this way with EVERY SINGLE GAME IN EXISTENCE. If you expect everyone to play 24/7 like they do on release then you’re also crazy. I still log in and am sent to the overflow servers in some zones, I play on Northern Shiverpeaks, so that in and of itself means there are plenty of people playing.

Sure, sometimes some events are bugged but generally they’re not. I did Lyssa earlier today, as well as Grenth. Melandru is a pain, but I did that one yesterday and I saw people doing it today when I was gathering my Orichalcum. I’ve also done several escort quests that worked just fine, actually have yet to come across any that are bugged and same goes for defending events. The only bugged event I’ve come across is one of the towers for Lyssa couldn’t be destroyed but that was patched with the last patch they did and has yet to bug since then. I haven’t explored the northern zones so I can’t comment on Jormag. That’s no where near 90% of events, unless you only do 10 events.

I’m not being a fanboy. I admit that there are bugs and ANet is patching them. You say 80% of the population agrees with you but the forums are a super small minority of the game and not even 80% of the forum goers agree with you. If you find a bug, report it. No game is perfect and no game ever will be perfect. If you don’t like that then go and be like the rest of your guild and leave. If you ever expect a game to retain the same population as it does upon its release then you’re not very bright.

Vocal minority? there is almost 30000 views on the Dungeon patch discussion that seems like a decent amount considering the rest of the player base are the ones who don’t care that is why they won’t post on the forums

We actually “Care” that is why we are voicing out our opinions here, so what are you trying to say then Anet should cater to the ones who don’t put any effort and posting in the Forums, the people who either farmed out exotic gear pre patch and could care less about dungeons now, and the ones who log in once a month? and where did i expect players to play 24/7 that just makes no sense

Your attitude towards “ohh if you don’t like it leave” that is the right attitude if you want this game to die because soon not only me, tons of people are thinking of leaving and if that happens there goes the Gem shop profit, i was planning on buying some gems for extra character slot bank tabs and bag spaces maybe even the skin or transmog stones but now highly unlikely i don’t see any light at the end of a dark tunnel, and if Anet doesn’t make any profit say goodbye to additional content and look at another SWTOR scenario, if you consider yourself part of the majority and they have that attitude then this game is in serious trouble
