Searing Effigy Tips
Not to be rude or anything but I just thought Id like to put it out there. The CoF path 1 boss is no longer a challenge tbh. Before, it was hard to finish the boss off, but now you can pretty much smack it down to nothing without even thinking about the crystals.
The CoF farmers that complain CoF 2 is hard should do CoF 1 now. You will finish it much faster with the new effigy boss.
But the little “puzzle” in CoF 1 is quite fun to do:) Naked time with the whole team;)

I was hoping this would be a fully ironic thread and the original post would indicate something extra ordinarily simple such as “all dps the boss” and nothing else. Anything more is just overkill; this boss is now super easy.
The strategy to this boss never changed during recent patches. It has always been DPS the boss until he gives loot, they just drastically lowered the DPS requirement to compensate for all those missed out on those sick 12 min Magg runs.
No offense, but I think you guys missed the point of the post. I did not mean to say that the boss is hard. Not at all, I killed it pre-nerf and I would call that fight difficult without the right group, but after the nerf this boss is stupid easy. The reason for this post is to explain the design of the fight. The mechanics behind it. Sure, you can just ignore the mechanics and power through, but there is an art to figuring out the pieces of the puzzle and taking virtually no damage through a boss fight which is designed to be endgame content.
I guess maybe I’m just OCD but I enjoy the mechanics puzzle to each boss and would prefer to figure the puzzles out rather than just complain about how difficult things are until they get nerfed.
If people could post some tips and tricks they’ve figured out about other bosses rather than continue to repeat how stupid easy this fight is that would be cool.
Isn’t that what you did? “ignore the mechanic and power through”? I didn’t see you attack the crystals at all at any point, maybe some incidental cleaves.
I think you are going a little too far to call this an art or a puzzle for moving out of a tick 3 ground effect and dodging a 2 second animation based attack. I’m not sure what tip you are providing to the community here, red circle bad is a common theme before you are even out of the starting zone.
I doubt a level 75 zone is considered end game content, especially one that is nerfed this hard.
The intended method, imo, would be to have 1-2 strong ranged or mobile melee people on crystal duty with the other 3 on dps.
