Learning to dodge means learning the tells for bosses— i.e. learning when to dodge. You need to be watching the boss and its animations, and be ready to move out of the way, dodge, or evade.
How do you do that? Focus on watching the bosses as you play. When you go down, there’s a reason. Why didn’t you dodge that big wind up attack? Were you out of dodges, or did you just not react in time, or did you not recognize that death was incoming? If you’re out of dodges, ask yourself why— perhaps you’re dodging too much when you don’t need it, or not using other evades properly (GS3, etc.). If you didn’t react in time, practice— you’ll learn the timing eventually. If you didn’t recognize that death was coming, well, now you know what death looks like. Playing like this— critically analyzing your mistakes— is the best way to get better, and makes every other strategy more effective.
The other thing to do is run with people who know what they’re doing, like the Dungeon Mentors in the thread listed. They’re the folks who will tell you the boss tells and strategies, so that you can focus on reacting to something you can expect. You still need practice and reflexes at that point, even if you know what’s coming, but it helps a whooole lot.
Good luck! Great post as well
wow such post
many joke
much funny
Oo I didn’t think this would get this many views lol. It was just a lame joke I came up with when I miss typed dodge as doge when someone asked me about how to avoid kholer’s spin lol. To all of you who offered advice, thank you
God I love all things doge.
You, sir, just won all of my internets.
Have a cookie.
Dodging is more relevant to non-stacking battles and trash running.
The other bit is the PvE-oriented build. To get that right, you go to the profession that’s relevant to you in the profession forum, not this one.
Last week, this thread won, in Lilith’s opinion, thread of the week. Someone else needs to step up their game so I can giggle more.
