For those who still believe that anet is the devil and manipulating
the screenshots…..

You can look up via wiki and other sites what
build numbers go with which releases.

In the end it’s just some kid who is just trying to be cool and cause confusion and anger from those who are gullible enough.

What I am saying is that the player’s image is constructed and false, but still, the GM’s image does not match the situation.

I don’t think anyone thinks Anet is photoshopping, rather the player that uploaded that picture. What I don’t get is why in the player picture the player is a mesmer and in the picture Chris posted the player is an elementalist?

Also interesting about Chris’s screenshot — the wp after belka + the spider run (which was removed months ago) is open….that’s a really old screen, unless GMs still have access to the wp.

Well the GM also isn’t in a party in both of the screenshots so that would be why.

GM features are basically a collection of hacks. Didn’t expect them to use them.Perma invisible warriors in wvw, magically moving golems, players automatically teleporting to you, anyone?

You are posting on the forums, which is a clear indication that you are not banned. None of the people in this party chat are banned. I know you wanted to post a screenshot of an account being banned, but you are posting a screenshot from the launcher back in 2012. We are on build 38057 not 15377.

My guess is that the GM was putting into question the validity of the tactic being used, but did not action as there was nothing against the rules.

GM accounts aren’t even playable accounts. They log in there for the sole purpose of monitoring. And you guys are picking because of the build? Lol!

Maybe they really like purple and skinned over their Zojja weapons. The bigger question, Nike, is why a warrior or guardian is using a shield in dungeons.

Anyway, about the “seam” claims, Chris’ screenshot also has the same seam.
About the 2012 ban message, I imagine they weren’t able to get a screenshot of his ban message (probably uninstalled) so he took one off google images to convey that he got banned.

Other differences between Chris’ image and the banned player’s include Chris and the Mesmer being in a different position, Brie being at slightly different HP, different minimaps with different waypoints and the lack of an Asura Elementalist.

If he did Photoshop it then it’s very thorough at least.

Yeah it is. The brighter colour is also caused by that event window.

Just throwing it out there, but maybe Chris asked Pans Lab for the screenshot of the dungeon he went into and said “legit”, he found one, threw it back to chris, happened to be the wrong one…

Doesn’t change that the guy from the original picture collage has a ban from the wrong build making it pretty clear that he was just trying to stir up some kitten.

First of all in the link i give now you can see the TS log of that day (25th August 2014) on the left and the acctuall screenshot of Alatea.2483 on the right. Furthermore i’ve marked the link of her screenshot sending it to us in TS. She got banned at 23:51 and sent us the screenshot at 23:55. Those are some mad photoshop skills imo.

Secondly i’ve quoted Lordarnoud’s message because in the screenshot you can clearly see his name (Warrior’s name) in the party Chat. (And you can see his name in our Teamspeak Channel aswell).

Thirdly in this link https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Safespots-and-Exploits/page/2#post4338224 Chris Clearly obviously states that standing OUTSIDE of the boss’s range is a bug and not an exploit.
“Standing outside a stationary boss’s range is not an exploit, the boss “should” reset after an extended period of time, but is not. This is an example of poor boss implementation, and not an exploit” (4th Paragraph)
Even if this would be considered as an exploit in this moment, she should have gotten a warning first and for the second time a temporary ban.
“I’ll be very clear here:
If a GM finds a player that is using a “Safe Spot”, that player will be moved out of the safe spot and warned (via in-game text). If they are caught again, that account will be temporarily suspended.” (7th Paragraph)
The fact that she got a perma ban for not even exploiting is highly confusing.

It addresses the apparent build discrepancy the developer Chris brought up to defend the gm’s actions.

That’s acctually the screenshot of the girl who got banned. Compare the build of the banned screen (bottom right) and the ingame build (press F11 and then look at the bottom right corner) you’ll see that those builds are exactly the same as the current build. This means that her ban occured since the last patch. (To be exact 25th August since we were there!)
Element had to post this since her account is banned and cant post it herself!

Furthermore the admins of ANET can clarify her account name seen in the background of that picture.
