Share Your Arah Love Here!
Arah is fun when you do it for the first time, with a team that takes its time to learn the path and encounters. Doesn’t matter if it takes 4 hours, its something new and exciting.
But after that, when you already know all the paths and you start skipping 90% of the dungeon it becomes just like any other dungeon. It is a bit better if you have a guild group and do it with them, because you can communicate and get along better. It gets worse when you pug it with “experienced” people that will only want you to do the bosses using glitches, because if you want it to do it legit, they will insta die and will call you noob and rage quit. The same “experienced” people that if you ask them to do something other than p3, will just say no, because they havent done any other path. Just fun all over the place.
But even with all this bull**it, lupicus remains my favorite boss in the game. That feeling that you get when you kill him with complete strangers in your party, including newbies, its priceless.

Dont care about the rest of the dungeon but for some strange reason i am addicted to doing lupicus. Maybe cause you cant skip or cheese him as much as people do with other bosses. Its a really enjoyable fight for me.

I love Arah too. P1,2,3 I finish daily with pugs. Lupi is my favourite boss fight. As I mostly play in pugs I don’t finish every path we start but I love this challange too. When unexperienced people can’t run properly I don’t mind going back and killing mobs- I like both skipping and killing.
The only thing I hate about Arah?- exploits. They are the plague. I’m trying to convince my teams to not use them but some people will take every opportunity they can get to get it done as fast as possible.

Being a Lovecraftian mytho fan, my fave is Path 1. Thank you Anet XD
Love all the arah paths arah, coe and fractals is the only dungeons that can give me a kick. failed Arah p4, but it was a blast doing it. hoping Anet can make more dungeons like this, and less like COF p1/2.

I wished I could do some Arah exploration. But so far, I’ve only seen, not met, seen elitist/“experienced” players in Arah. They don’t like when they got newbies. I’ll be honest, I’m kind of an elitist myself for CoF and AC but not much, just when they don’t dodge when needed and when they aggro something we are trying to avoid. In other words rage.
Regardless, I don’t have anything to say about Arah because I’ve never done it. Played since launch and never touched Arah exploration even with all previous “speed-runs” and skip to final boss runs with no DR.
I’ve been looking for a well-mannered group to do Arah with, to teach players who’s new to Arah exploration. Tough luck going on though and it seems like you guys are enjoying it… like really enjoying it… care to assist and show me what you see in Arah exploration?
TL;DR Show me why Arah makes you all warm and fuzzy.
I get a kick out of doing arah. It’s difficult. It’s got Lupicus. It’s (generally, there are obvious exceptions) got good and original thinking behind encounters and bosses. It has fights in which warriors and guardians ARENT the be all and end all because it encourages utility over DPS far more than any other dungeon. It has Lupicus. It looks AMAZING. It’s atmospheric. It’s got Lupicus It’s really atmospheric, feels like you’re an ant in a beehive, enemy territory. It’s got a pretty decent storyline for an explorable dungeon. Also it has Lupicus.
Path 2 is my favourite. The trash is actually fun to fight. You gotta use teamwork, you gotta use smarts. It’s not just facerolling through because the mobs do nothing back except for negligible damage.
There are a lot of things the devs have done wrong with this game, especially in regard to dungeons, but Arah is one thing they have done (generally) right.
Arah is the best dungeon. Prove me wrong. Hint you can’t.

For me it is lupi. Arah was the first dungeon I tried within a month of release sporting some nice shiny rare gear. I went with a pug and took well over an hour to get to lupi doing path 3 and had lupi stomp all over us for a good 45min. We could only survive 1 minute or so of phase 2 and called it quits after many failures. I felt like giving up on dungeons but went to AC and then others and saw they weren’t all that bad. I went back to Arah many months later filled with dungeon experience and found Arah to be a good challenge instead of a nightmare. Lupi is such a great boss and I exacted my revenge on him by soloing and putting him to shame like he did to me earlier on. I really hope they make more bosses that are as detailed and challenging with no way to exploit them like our good old lupi. On a side note a mini lupi would be a great item to add to the game. Just saying…
The deadeyes in P2. Oh the way they looked at me….
on a more serious note, lupi and alphard (when you let her do the spinning one shot thing) are both pretty exciting fights.

Add me in game and the next time that we get a group together I’ll invite you! We do not exploit and we skip only a bare minimum of trash mobs. You are welcome to come and find out first hand what all the hype is about!

I could tear up just reading this. I just need enough tokens for some Arah pieces
Thx in advance.

Why would you let Alphard do her stupid spin2win ability to begin with?

Because it’s probably not working as intended (punching her during her animation stops her from spinning). Robert just needs to get PM (I seriously should pm him with every exploit I know in Arah). I’m waiting expectantly to see “Alphard being tedious” threads when it happens.

This is not an Alphard-specific feature y’know.
And yes, she’s tedious when one ability can negate so much of her mechanics.

It’s not just her but it’s a topic about Arah (Love). What are her mechanics anyway except pull&barrel and spin? Clones? Mesmer makes this fight ridiculously short, effortless and trivial.
I’d rather have more bosses like lupicus or simin than autoattack bosses when you have 1 certain proffesion in your team composition.

Most players that have met and bested all/most of the PvE encounters would probably agree. Though certain classes still can trivialise the fights to some extent, the fractal bosses were a step in the right direction and a nice change from the tank and spank encounters you meet in a majority of the dungeons. (Especially the imbued grawl shaman, you can still melee him without reflection skills but it requires some fast reflexes which some players might say equals skill)
Unfortunately a lot of the encounters just become punching bags at 25+ which takes away a lot of the fun.
for all you EU-players out there, just give me a PM (slikked or Torbjorn.9642) and i will prolly join you if im not bussy, i love the dungeon and try to do it everyday. also, not to bragg about my guild or anything, but we try to do arah as often as possible together with fracts and COE, just ask to get invited and we will invite you.

Is this the giant daggerstorm 1 shot thing he/she (which is it) does when you don’t stack up? Doesn’t feel like it makes it much worse, just have to play with your eyes open. We 3-manned her and we were having fun the whole time. Better than YET ANOTHER afk faceroll damage sponge, even if it makes it take a bit longer.
Also add me if you are having trouble with Arah, if I’m not busy I’ll try my best to help you through it and I’ve helped plentiful guildies through it. Provided it’s not P4, I’ll leave that to Wethospu he’s far more experienced. But not just now, as I’m incredibly sick and don’t have the willpower to even manage AC. Writetyper.1985 or Barathrumn.

It’s definitely she, at least before she died. Try soloing or 2manning her, it’s definitely more fun.
It is encouraging to see players willing to go through what a lot of people on the forums call an “unforgiving” and “over powered” dungeon. Perhaps the true skill lies in the ability to go back to an encounter after having failed countless times, and still be willing to try new tactics and builds to beat it. Of course not using any exploits and such nonsense.
Can the real reward in beating Arah be found in a couple of tokens, some title, or perhaps loot? Or is the true reward knowing that YOU played your class and character so well that you bested one of the most insane dungeons in GW2?
Because it’s probably not working as intended (punching her during her animation stops her from spinning).
Hardcore! The groups I’m with usually scream like little girls when Alphard ran to the centre of the room “TAKE COVER! TAKE COVER!! WHERE ARE THE KITTEN COVER!!!”
Yea, it’s still fun nonetheless XD
Whoevere designed arah needs to make dungeons in future and only him!

I agree. Especially the person that designed path 1 (presuming it wasn’t the same person that designed all the paths)
Aside from the ooze trash which probably is one of the most annoying things in the game it has some rather unique and fun (no, really) encounters
Something all those YouTube videos need to get into is that speed running and skipping mobs are for experienced path runners. To many people see those videos and want to skip everything then make mistakes in a boss or at a mob and end up getting their group wiped trying to get back to where they left. When you start Arah learn the mobs and farm them. Next to fractals Arah has one of the most generous loot tables and really rewards good clean runs with ectoplasm ready rares and some excellent masterworks. The money is good and patience is a virtue, take your time and learn Lupi etc.
