I was doing FotM 49 a few evenings ago and I’m not joking when I say this; the thief on my team seriously had no idea that they were capable of stealthing with anything aside from shadow refuge. When I told them to blast with us and SR themself at control panel (we had dredge as third fractal), they didn’t have a clue what I was talking about… and they spoke fluent english.

God, I hate how common this is. Especially among pugs who consider thief their main character.

I really enjoy when you finish up the ice ele in the snowblind fractal, and the thief happily sb’s ahead giving everyone back agro. I tried to get a thief to blast smoke screen in arah p2 once, in the first tunnel. He had no idea what I was talking about, so i explained the mechanic and asked if he had a short bow. “no, i use p/p”. I asked if he wouldn’t mind me sending him one, and he left party. I looked on the lfg and he had posted a new ad – “p2 NO ELITIST SHTHEADS”.

So… the funniest things happen to my main class… I feel so sad… NAH, I also hated most of the ppl playing the same class as I do.
So, to follow the main topic – my funniest moment was in fractals lv 2, yes lv 2 for karma with a friend. We had this guard using scepter/focus and hammer. Before the battle against Mai Trin there are some mobs, we cleared them all but the champ. While we were killing the champ at melee range the guard was using scepter at like 200 range. My friend told him to go melee and he responded with " I play how I want", then changed to hammer.

I had a WTF moment in AC a couple of days ago and got ahem trolled badly.

P1 – Troll crashes through wall jumps right on my head and kills me as I am slow and typing
P2 – At the exact same spot, troll jumps on my head and kills me
P3 – Not this time troll (while my party is all trolling me about watching out for the troll) – so I sneakily run right and go round the long way – bam – troll jumps on my head and kills me

It was my fault for chatting, but it was definitly one of those laugh/cry/rage all at the same moments.

The best part is that I had no stacks of might or anyother dps boosts. I have only had this happen to me in the spider corner in p1. It also has happened with different weapons, for example in these screenshots of the combat log I used the hammer and the mace.

The best part is that I had no stacks of might or anyother dps boosts. I have only had this happen to me in the spider corner in p1. Well I’d say the bigger problem is your guardian is running S/F not the fact he put one WoR in the wrong spot. To be fair, it’s more your fault for allowing him to range. Most pug guards just put wor up for themselves not there groups so if hes meleeing its no longer an issue.

Most pug guards just don’t know what wor does. They also use aegis on themselves only, not their groups so if hes meleeing its no longer an issue.

Fixed that for you. I don’t PUG often and I generally don’t expect a high level of coordination or skill from PUGs. So, my WTF moment is actually a positive one.

Having missed much of the reset tour, a few from my guild made up the difference the next day. Posted for a random. No requirements to party; expecting to just bring someone along and carry. We’re already running through when a Ranger joins; 25% movement speed…as expected.

Unlock WP for him, next encounter I notice I’m getting Spotter. I see Frost Spirit modifier go up as well and the Ranger contributing in melee. Of course I didn’t ever really ask for his build or gear (didn’t advertise for anything) but it was a very cool WTF moment to see a PUG defy all expectations.

…. I’m sure that if I pugged 1 or 2 slots, I’d cause a lot of heart attacks on join. When doing Arah I usually start with signets for the skips, so my bar would look something like signet of stone, signet of the hunt and protect me or signet of renewal.

CoF p1 “ordinary”-run.

Three Charr Warriors walks into CoF p1, two with 13-16k AP and 2-3 Legendaries, one with a Twilight and a glass of whiskey. Twilight Charr turns to the Charrbros before the rolling boulders instance and ask; “Okay, who wanna smash the gate?”. The Charrbros looks confused at eachother before stating; “We’ve never done the gate/don’t know how to do the gate”.

Much whiskey disappeared that night.

CM path 1

First encounter is a little sloppy. Ele tells us we should have stacked, which is fair enough, we should have. When I got back from the room for the first pull two people had followed me down stairs, and two had stayed up the top around the door. Oh well, it happens and we didn’t wipe. Next few encounters are smoother, but the ele isn’t moving. Eventually he turns for the room near Sure-Shot Seamus, but doesn’t offer a word of explanation as to what happened.

Getting past Sure-Shot Seamus is messy, as a ranger with about 1000 AP has hung back to fight him, and another dies rezzing the ranger.. Turns out the ranger hasn’t done this before. That’s cool, we’ll just explain each part as we get to it. But now the ele isn’t moving again. Also not a big problem, at. Least we know who’ll stay back and watch the video for the next bit.

Morgan dies, ranger is rezzed (we should really have explained the fight better), and the ele still isn’t moving. Two players decide to kick the ele and all of a sudden we’re outside the dungeon. Then the ele rejoins and explains that his computer froze. I would have tried again, partly because I like helping people on the first trip through a dungeon and didn’t want to leave the ranger with a bad experience, but two others left and so I gave up.

A couple of minutes later I was on the lfg tool and I saw the ranger, the ele and one other with the message “lfg, path 1, speed run”

agreed 100% deSade When I ran CM for the first time for my DM (it took me long time to get around to it). I was so lost on what to do XD even watching a vid didn’t help me So I ask if some would explain when we are skipping and other things. Only one of them knew the path well enough to explain it to me :/ Then the other two paths were just as bad. Seems CM is the dungeon that everyone lies about there experience with it and tries to pass of that they are pro.

on that related note my group in that situation had a war camping GS/LB and a thief that shared venom(you only use this if you’re condi spec) and didn’t know how to use stealth AT ALL let alone combo fields. I didn’t finish that one and I wish I just left on swamp.

Yeah, if they wipe enough times they’ll eventually get it.

My WTF moment was when I was duo-ing lupi with a friend. We pushed him into the back wall, and at about the last 15% he apparently went further into the wall and then reset to full HP and immediately started spawning grubs and locust. Was not a very fun lupi kill to say the least.

This makes me feel a lot better. Had a frustrating dungeon run just a few minutes ago.

I never really put requirements into my LFG comments, but today I just wanted a nice smooth Arah run with some experienced people. Made an Arah P3 run with the comment “Please be experienced in meleeing Lupi P3”. Got a 1.6k AP thief, then a 4k AP guard, then 1.9k war and 2.2k war.

But hey, there’s always those people who say, “AP doesn’t matter” So who am I to judge off of that, right?

Now, I’m not the best player around (by a large margin), but I can usually survive when things go a little pear shaped. So I decide to see what happens as we bring them along. Both warriors die on hunter/crusher. All 4 wipe on run through to mage crusher. Both warriors die on run through again, even with thief stealthing, though the thief and guard made it, so we all 3-personed mage crusher. And on the abominations, the thief aggros an illusionist and is killed.

And then we get to lupi. Gawd… grubs everywhere -_-; the 2.2k AP warriors suggests we range the entire fight. The 1.9k AP warrior is silent, not even willing to respond to the question “Does everyone here understand how to dodge grubs?” The thief is just as bad, saying things like, “Man, who here isn’t dodging grubs? come on!” but then utterly failing to dodge grubs himself. A few more tries, a few more people failing to dodge grubs, and the thief and 2 warriors are sent packing.

Posted same lfg, got a 2.6k engi, 2.5k thief and an 11k thief. Good enough, try lupi again. Engi sticking to range (oh come on, please read the darn lfg message… at least STAND in melee range so lupi doesn’t go teleporting everywhere). At least the other 2 thieves are meleeing. We manage to get lupi to phase 2 with only a single grub eaten. Frenzied Barrage brings my team members down multiple times, but we manage to pick them up and stagger through the rest of lupi (though the engi ended up well and dead and out of range of the rest of us who were meleeing).

Cherry on top of this terribad group: At wraithlord, engi pops mortar turret and starts unloading on the boss.
