Now fewer people are doing it. I think Anet should nerf/remove some of the trash mobs. We should focus on fighting boss rather than take too much effort on running or killing trashes.

That doesnt change why people aren’t doing them.

If they want to play this non-sense economy reason, they need to incentivize all aspects of the game.

Simplest way of doing that is raw gold, which we know isnt going to happen.

The other option which is a much nicer fix is have them give out a select-able box of materials per the level range of the dungeon. With level 80 dungeons giving the choice for things needed for ascended crafting.

But i’m no dev, so there might be a reason why they don’t want people to feel like they are earning progression through content and eventually being able to raid with others /shrug.

Dungeons developer team was disbanded a long time ago. They not only needed to nerf liquid gold to slow down the inflation, but also to make it a dead content. Nobody will ever touch them again, and I dare to say that if dungeons weren’t tied to the personal story, they would just scrap them, close all the gates and put there some NPCs that would tell by-comers that the excavation/mission/siege is over. And of course, they would write a long blogpost that they did it for our own sake, that it will make the game better…..

The only dungeon I can remember linked to PS was Arah, the rest before that are optional are they not, ( note if they have made dungeons part of the NPE I wont know as I haven’t done it )

I think within the next year they will move to remove all dungeons apart from Arah PS for the final chapter, and even then they may remove it and make it that 1 part for the PS, siting that no one plays them anymore so they have no use in the game.

They have already stated they are moving away from dungeons into fractals and raids, I do enjoy fractals and the update will be interesting, I have no time though for raids at all, they removed a good gold income from them game stating reasons, then made new content that requires a MASSIVE gold sink to get the armor you need to run it, Anet logic, take with 1 hand, and take more with the other.

Dungeons have needed rework since launch. They were fun but rough and too easily exploitable. There was some minor rework to a couple bosses in AC long ago and a few very very slight tweaks (like taking away the safe spot you could climb up on to fight the TA bosses), but they have at no point put any significant effort into working on dungeons and now they’ve abandoned them completely.

I guess it’s easier to churn out new mediocre content than it is to make existing content good.

Anet nerfed dungeon rewards and made them a dead content specifically because they didn’t want to rework them. The only things you can expect is further nerfs if people will keep reminding them that this content still exists. At this moment the resources are dedicated to raids. Until something new comes up, of course.

ANet needs to rework the Rewards completely to give Dungeons again a reason to be done. If not for fluid gold income, then for somethign else, that is unique to Dungeosn and that MUST be earnable only through playing all of the different Dungeons (and definetely not through PvP!!!!)

Only then will become Dungeons again a healthy game content where you will find alot of players willing to play them.

1) Anet needs to add to the Token Rewards also unique looking Dungeon Ascended Weapons

2) Anet needs to add to the Tokens Rewards also three unique looking Dungeon Ascended Armors

3) Anet needs to add to the Token Rewards unique looking Dungeon based Ascended Back Items that work also as Glider Skins if you own HoT

4) Anet needs to add to the Token Rewards unique Miniatures that are based from the Dungeons like for example a Miniature Graveling from Ascalon Catacombs or a Miniature Howling King/Colossus Rumblus and so on

5) Anet needs to add Bags of Lodestones as Token Rewards that can contain like 1-3 Lodestones where each Dungeon gives different Lodestones
Ascalon =Crystal Lodestone
Caudecus = Onyx Lodestone
Twilight Arbor = Evergreen Lodestone (if you don’t own HoT then random)
Sorrows Embrace = Molten Lodestone

10) ANet needs to add some dungeon unique Gathering Tools as Rewards for Tokens, that have more usages than normal Orihalcum Tools (instead of 50/100, these Tools have 500/1000 usages and dungeon unique effects, but can be used only in Dungeons as this change means, anet should add Gathering Nodes INTO THE DUNGEONS.
Fractals has one, so why shouldn’t Dungeons have Gathering Nodes too??)

If these 10 things would get changed about Dungeons, then would be Dungeosn again massively more interesting to be played for a long long looooooooong time, because people would actually have to do then again something and have alot of new things to spent their Tokkens forother then only for rares/exos for Ectos or cheap Mystic Toilet Fodder.
Then would Dungeons feel also alot more rewarding again, because not of the massive fluid Gold income you get from it, but because of them helping you to reduce massively the grind in the game for specific things and them helping to make GW2 again a bit more alt character friendly by giving you another option of how to obtain ascended equipment and giving you ways additionally to obtain T6 materials and especially lodestones in a bit more constant way that isnt totally based on RNG loot only or grinding ages long various maps for events only.

Minor tweaks with the old rewards? No.

Sorry but I don’t miss dungeons one bit. They were the definition of grind. Everyone just did them because of the rewards (gold). That’s why every dungeon was about how fast you finish doing it so you can move to the next one.

Facerolling easy since their release, bad mechanics (that we didn’t even get to see thanks to stuff like Ice Bow), mob skipping, class stacking, class un-desirability, zerker or get out requirement, and so on.

It was fun the first times you did it but after that it became the same routine. Race to the boss, #1111 and loot.

I do want them to revamp dungeons but make them worth playing. Both for challenge and actual rewards (not gold). Make at least an explorable path in every dungeon REALLY hard, and add some unique rewards for completing it like in raids. Otherwise I’d rather have them dead than see again in LFG X-p1 2 eles/1grd/1thief/ zerker or don’t join.

You really aren’t listening. They already know that – and that is exactly why they’ve done the opposite and nerfed those rewards into the ground. They have already admitted that their goal was to make running dungeons undesirable.
They don’t want you to do dungeons. Thus, they won’t fix them.

If you want that to change, don’t offer suggestions how dungeons might be fixed. Those are already known to them. Instead, try to persuade them that killing dungeons was a bad decision and will reflect negatively on the game.

I never liked the idea of grinding dungeons for armor and weapons, but it had to be done for varios reasons.

Lorewise, they are very old content with one major NPC having died since and another one being close to a traitor. I know this canĀ“t be helped if you do not invalidate Destinys edge and completely replace the dungeons with new content, but it feels still odd for me to play them now.

I would be all for reworked dungeons with the new heroes and old dungeons being converted into fractals, but that is probably not possible.

Multiple choice:

  1. Exclusion generating arguments in game and forums and reports
  2. Kicking at last boss or in general generating arguments and reports
  3. Endless complaints in the weekly (or sometimes daily) “I don’t like meta” threads
  4. Years of scorn in the “dungeons are face roll easy” posts
  5. Failed experiment in creating content requiring players to fully use game mechanics
  6. Cost effectiveness — easier to make new fractals than dungeons
  7. The dungeon devs are long-gone, and ANet seems to have trouble dealing with modifying legacy content if those who created it are no longer there
  8. Dungeons are now part of the free content; development of free content is not happening; instead, attention is given only to content players have to pay to access (or access better rewards [hopefully, soon] in the case of FotM)
  9. ANet wants to forget dungeons and hopes players will, too
  10. All of the above
