So Did Sorrow's Embrace Story Mode Last Night..
Yup yup, would fight again if I got tokens for it haha. hE’s a lot of fun, but also a very painful and frustraing beast if your team isnt specced right. Everyone should have a cleanse, a ranged rez if possible, and if someone in your group has team reflection or wall of reflection you can pop that just before ressing a downed ally to do so safely.

I remember my first time fighting him, was way too tough. I did him a few other times to help out people, and he seemed so much easier when people know what to do against him.=p
This was my fav dungeon by far the last boss feels like a boss with mechanics!!!!!!!(about the only one) and the golem boss was a challenge and i was awesome when we finally killed him.
When we killed that golem boss I literally was like, “sdofbsisi;gs;ohg;sh. EFF YOU.”
Our group was happy lol. And yes the last boss was fun.
Did you read his buff? It says conditions HEAL HIM.
If you use direct damage only, he goes down so fast its not funny.
If you turn off all your bleeds, poisons etc and just use normal attacks, he should be dead before he does his second lot of fire
The issue is that some classes are harder to manage that than others.. Also, when running with pugs there’s a pretty good chance that there’s one person that just straight up doesn’t get it and keeps spamming his burning/bleeding, whatever, making this fight a nightmare..
When I first did SE my group took on Kudo in one attempt. Even though none of us died and we finished the boss fight without much trouble we were still thoroughly disappointed. Knowing what to expect going into the fight removed all difficulty from the experience. The only thing that proved to be a challenge was the enormous collective health pool of Kudo and the three golems, and that is not a legitimate challenge. A boss should be difficult because they require skill to defeat, not lots of spare time.
The let-down of the previous fight aside, we all really enjoyed the final boss of the dungeon. It required you to make use of a new mechanic that was easy to pick up and master once you catch on to it. Most importantly however, the boss’s abilities were clearly telegraphed, making player death the result of their own mistakes and nothing else.
My only hope is that the devs use the final fight of the instance as their model for future encounters, and not the one involving Kudo.

Good luck turning of your minor traits. In a normal PUG you are lucky if there are actually three people that can deal any damage to the golem at all.
And out of those three, you have to hope that there aren’t any elementalists as they do pathetic damage with attacks that don’t cause condition damage, especially if the are forced to switch attunement now and then, which they will have to to cleanse burning.
The whole ability is so badly designed that it amazes me that it hasn’t been fixed yet. That fight alone has probably lost Anet several tens of thousands of players.
Our group had no problem stacking conditions on him, his healing was pathetic, especially if we kept poison up. The most important thing in this fight is defense and uptime. Being able to safely get your teammates up is invaluable as are condition cleanses.

Did this tonight with a PUG – we did very well, but it still took as a long time to get through. I only died once… I was crushed by the mechanism (I didn’t know about it!) in a spot with no rez hope and no escape.
The three golems were a pain. I did not enjoy that fight at all. It wasn’t difficult. I don’t think anyone died during the entire encounter, but man was it time consuming.
Final boss however was one of the best I’ve seen so far – and the easter egg when he goes down is priceless
