So I Ran CoF P3…
-Z
It used to have 5 torches that needed activating, pugs don’t like coordination. And I dare not mention kits, that rustles alotta jimmies.
The path itself also takes longer than the other 2, and everyone is in such a rush these days..

any one exploiting cof should be banned, and items removed -.- thats all there is too it, then maybe people would stop exploiting it.
same should happend in every dungeon.

That’s good, because no one mentioned exploiting at all

Used to? Have they removed it?
Haven’t done path 3 since I finished it for the achievement months ago.

They were going to reduce it to 3 torches. Not sure if that happen already or not.
whoaaah! :o if it became 3 torches, I can run CoF p3 much easier now hehehe but seriously, I think it’s fine for it to be 5 torches. Somehow, the theme of cof is always fully utilizing a 5man team where each person has a role in it.
Because people are bad and lazy.

I ran this path an hour ago. It still has 5 torches.

Oh weird, they had patch note out for yesterday saying they changed it to 3, maybe I misread >_<
Well, either way, it’s intended to be changed to 3 sometime this month. :P

I like this path too, but yeah, it takes way more effort than the other two. It makes you think a lot more, and focus instead of just ‘stand here, now let’s repeatedly zerg and die so Magg can open the door’.
The one problem I have is the one part where you have to capture an area and mobs spawn. Lots of burning…
And the boss wasn’t hard, he only knocked me in the lava once, if anything, make him have less health or less invulnerability times, because it was just long, not hard

W-What? Nobody mentioned exploits. He was wondering why nobody does CoF P3.
really bad engineer
I usually run all 3 paths of CoF to farm tokens and lodestones. Most of the time we’re two or three that knows the path and two pugs that have no clue of what to do. I always let them all know before we start that we need good coordination, and if they think they’re up for it we run it. I recently created a TS server with a public room, so the two last runs we did it with TS, and it all became much easier
I think people just don’t like to do it because it’s harder than the other, and it takes some time to do. You know, people want the table set, they don’t want to do it them self…
Because it’s hard to do with PuG’s as the torch timing is not lenient at all. Especially due to needed to sync up killing, which can be hard if you dont know the builds people are running.
Oh also it bugs out very easily (unless they fixed it)
Before the first barrage you have to weaken the boss to cause him to fall back. But if you accidentally kill any of the specific charr that are meant to live (and no, there is no indication of which these are) the boss fight becomes bugged and the dungeon incomplete-able, Back to the torches with ye!
Basically a group is punished for being very very good at killing things. Which is bonkers.
The defense circle is ok, but trips up a LOT of groups. Monsters spawn when there is 1 charr alive from the previous group, and charr spawning are usually more dangerous than those out. Failure to anticipate and burst the smokelord is a pretty much instant wipe for most PuG’s.
Then you have the torch running bit, which is hard/impossible for a lot of people I guess? I have literally never had problems with it due to always knowing which of my skills make me immortal for a few seconds. But lots of PuG’s apparently do not, so they run and die and die and die some more.
The final boss is a joke. He balls deeps 1 person on your team, all they need to do is not stand near an edge. The rock spikes also dont cover the full platform, I found a spot to stand where I could literally have afk’d the ENTIRE fight. (Which takes ages btw. Funfact anet, fights where bosses routinely become immortal for absolutely not reason? NOT FUN. It’s a bullkitten lengthening method and it’s absolute trash. Get rid of it, and never include it again. If a boss goes immortal it better be because we did something wrong, or we need to do something currently. Not “lawl boss is becoming immortal now for no reason, hurhurhur”)
In a guild group path 3 is easy. Probably one of the better designed paths in any dungeon tbh. It is however plagued with a horde of design flaws that make it not worth running. Oh and PuG’s will die, over and over and over again unless you get very lucky.
