So I just did CoF Path 2....
Yeah, they’ve completely trivialized all the hard parts of dungeons now. In some areas it’s for the better (Subject Alpha – if you could do him for 5 minutes then you could do him for 10) but generally they seem to have just given in to the idea of dungeons being facerolled through by the least capable people.
Some like to throw the word “casual” around. I disagree with the use of this word. My girlfriend, who has taken this whole time since launch to get her character to 80 (Some might say “Casual” amounts of play) had no problem getting through SE P1 or CoF P2’s old magg defence room, because, you know, we thought about it, we used teamwork, we had the whole party working together. Anyone went down we got them back up instantly. We didn’t just run in like headless chickens in full zerkers and get CC’d to pieces by the smokelord, we had some people stacking might, we had some people blinding and CCing the smokelord, and we had everyone putting out as many heals as they could.
Hell, my friend’s 11 year old daughter downed less on kholer than the two mute pugs who tried pulling howling king to the stairs.
There comes a point when you can’t use the word “casual” anymore, just “incapable”.
All these people aruging for the return of graveyard zerging with arguments that essentially boil down to “it’s my right to rely on a blatant crutch to pass fights instead of actually learning to play or working with my team!” confuse me. It makes me wonder how they coped on bosses like lupi, who, if you don’t learn how to dodge will kill you faster than you can run back.
really bad engineer

Easy answer on the Lupi…many people have just been carried through the game. 1 competent person in a dungeon makes or breaks it. The difference between last week and this week…this week you actually need at least 2 competent people. —-sometimes-—
Lupi is on Vicodin or something. He barely shadow steps anymore, his phase 3 is almost entirely just him walking in a circle.
So you guys manage to finish it everytime in pug? I really don’t believe it.
If you guys keep doing it everyday in pug I bet you guys will fail a bunch.
What I don’t get is, why did so many people insist on “rez-rushing” the bomb room in path 2? It takes just as long to just beat down the mobs and you didn’t have to die that way.

I have sat in bomb room and killed mobs in the bomb the door room plenty of times. A lot of people are mainly just insecure when it comes to fighting a lot of enemies. Its an interesting strategy doing 1/2/2 but got insanely too common when it came to doing runs.

Because that was the most consistent method for success and had no requirement on build/gear/class for a pug team. The trade off was longer time and repair costs.
Pre patch if you chose to fight you had to have a very well geared team with good synergy or you’d fail every time.
