I’ve been holding out for a long time on fractals because I feel they screwed over half the end game dungeons by siphoning everyone into one frac. Here is my experience

Takes me about 30mins to find a group for fractal level 1.

Get in there with 4 pugs and it is amazingly complicated with timing. Half the pug has no idea whats going on and it takes us about another 30 mins to get through the swamp fractal part I

Finally we get through it and we’re on the final fractal. Guess what. I get disconnected! So like any reasonable person would, I try to enter it to go in and finish it. But behold I can’t re enter. So what does the game do? It kicks the rest of the group out. So not only did I screw myself over, but my entire group.

But I made a good amount of money on the first 2 fracs, so I said Ill try it again. Luckily it didn’t take 30 mins because I pugged in another guilds group. So we are doing the first one, and guess what…I get disconnected again!

As a side note, this is the only kitten game i crash on. Planetside 2, Skyrim, all these other games run fine. When this game first came out I was getting bluescreen and random crashes every other day. I finally figured out I couldn’t run internet browsers in the background for some reason. They finally seemed to stop about a month ago, but now it seems I only get disconnected from fractals.

I went into fractals already thinking on how poorly executed fractals were (with causing half the dungeons to go dead, destroying lions arc map chat, etc), but this first experience only cements on how kitten annoying and poorly done these things are.

Now I understand they’re supposed to be hard, but level 1? Come on. At least give us some leeway till 6 or 7. Just so we can get an easier job at finding a party.

Honestly, the hardest part of fractals Pre-big agony is learning what to do. Level 1 swamp prob has the most rage quit of any dungeon in this game.

Honestly, I couldn’t worry about that so much if not for the disconnection and designs of re entering, because at least I could progress in this thing. But I haven’t gotten disconnected in about a month. Last time I did was in a dungeon. For some reason it only disconnects in dungeons. But not only did it happen once, but twice. So frustrating.

I know it sounds obvious but have you updated all your drivers lately, a lot of crashes are caused by out of date drivers. For some strange reason my old drivers used to crash on internet explorer often.

my version was .7, the newest was .9 so we will see if it helps. I’m going to give it one more try after its done updating. I will update if I manage to get through level 1 without any crashes.

A group of people doing something for the first time doesn’t know what to do, shocking. That’s not the fault of fractals. Hell how do you think we got through it on day 1 when fotm first came out? We went in there and figured out how to do it.

Is getting fixed in the next patch.

Level 1 is incredibly easy.

No you just need to learn to play better. Also:

Because we all know how amazing lions arch map chat was before. Back before fractals when it was full of people spamming “lfg for cof” and people arguing about religion and politics, and trolls.
