So, um... profit in Agony Resistance?
how/why did you make a +12 while only being personal level 12 >.>
did you buy ~2k +1s?

You’d be surprised at what this bored housewife does sometimes
anything over +10 has really really low velocity on the tp
be patient if you decide to sell it
if you decide to use it, you wont be able to use it until you have infused rings and you wont really need it until you start doing 38s or maybe 40s
i highly recommend not making it bigger

Demand for +1 infusions still seems to be high. I have no problem selling mine for 10 or 11 silver each. However, this might be due to people buying them for Mawdrey, rather than a specific need for Fractals. Beyond +5, I’d say it’s purely the domain of collectors and exceedingly rich players who are looking for something to store their gold in (and that they can show off to others).

There may be a bit of a market for +8 and +9.
8/8/+9 on the rings and backpiece and you can get 55 AR with trinkets alone, making everything up to level 49 available on all characters.
to be faceroll at the high levels, because it
needs to be accessible to the casuals and bads.
Most people would probably only settle on a nice number like +10 or +5 for personal use (Thats what i do but maybe im just a bit anal). So be careful when trying to sell. I was saving them originally and sold mine when i got to +10. It sold pretty fast. But if I had sold at +9 or +11 i probably would of had to wait much longer. Now i just sell the +1’s in bulk.
I’d be really surprised if we ever need more than 100 Agony Resistance for anything in the long term. If we take the current trend to heart, then with 70AR resulting in 1% at 50-59, 85AR will result in 1% at 60-69 and 100AR will result in 1% at 70-79. 100AR requires every piece be ascended and infused and you have to use +10 Agony Infusions in each of your rings and back.
That all said, I’d recommend selling it. I highly doubt ANet will introduce anything that requires that much AR ever given their current rate of updating Fractals.

……go on…..
If you intend to sell your +12 infusion, be aware the price you paid to make it: you paid the +1 infusions (by not selling them as +1), and you paid for the additional material.
Example:
You need 2048 +1 infusions to create 1 +12 infusion. One +1 infusion currently costs 9s 2c if you order it. With the added material, the +12 infusion costs 2048 * 9s 2c + 1s 49.6 c *2047 = 215 g 35 s 27 c.
The current highest offer is 160 g 15 c. If you sell the +1 piece immediately, you lose 55 g. To break even, you have to sell it with a price of 215 g 35 s 27 c * 0.85 = 183 g 4 s 98 c.
In general, it is not advisable to craft infusions that high. Almost nobody would buy them, and your offer is easily undercut by another seller. In addition, +1 infusion are easily sold. Just sell +1 infusions if you don’t intend to actually use infusions.
Attached is a spreadsheet based on today’s trading post values where you see the price and cost of buying/selling/crafting of the infusions.
Important is column K and M. K is the cost of an infusion by crafting it, and M is the profit you make if you craft an infusion and sell it at the current minimum sale price. The +12 infusion seems a good profit of 14 gold, but it is in fact nothing: with a demand of 40 and offer volume of 3, it is clear that probably nobody would buy it at this price.
Anything higher than a +10 will take a while to sell, and are often rather pointless.
Personally, I’m just going to make a +10 and that’s about it. I made a +9 and slapped it into my back piece as an emergency placeholder because I was tackling lvl 50. With my weapons and trinkets alone, I’ve got 54 AR, which is a really annoying number. With my armour, I hit 79 AR…yet another annoying number…
When you really look at it, making higher level infusions is not really profitable at all
You can get maximum agony damage reduction up through level 29 with only AR25 and you can obtain that using ascended trinkets and simple infusions alone. There’s no mechanical advantage to spending the extra time and coin to build up +X Agony Infusions.
Further, taking all costs into account, there’s only a tiny additional profit realized from selling a +N infusion as opposed to 2^n–1 basic infusions.
So my strong recommendation is to sell +1 infusions and not bother with combining them.
edit: adding example
As an example, the wiki article on agony infusion currently shows:
+10 agony infusion
- 512 +1 infusions, @9s 37c each (top right corner)
- 511 reagents: 7g 64s 46c
- TP price: 55g 51s 0c
That 55g looks nice and shiny compared to the reagent costs, until you add up what you could get from selling the +1 infusions, i.e. 47g 97s 44c (pre-fees). Combine that with the reagent costs and you’d actually lose a tiny bit of money overall. The math is similar for all other +x infusions.
You could watch the market and ensure a bit of profit by carefully selecting prices and infusion amounts, but again, if you want to invest that much time studying the TP, there are more lucrative markets out there.
