Yeah sword only is not enough to survive the birds, his other attacks are horrible OP as well and the hornet’s sting has like 1/4s casting time and does ~50%hp dmg and can basically only be avoided by luck. That’s why I ran all those defensive traits. You also need crazy amounts of dodges for all his attacks so I ran stamina sig and the vigor on >10%hp damage trait plus double energy sigil.

It’s not that bad of a boss… the rest of the dungeon though… kitten.

Connection not good enough to watch anything but I assume you abused line of sight to prevent bird damage?

He actually used the defense trait to reduce shield block cooldown, and alternated between that + sword OH blocks for it. Pretty smart move, but I’m sure it could be done without having to perhaps… but I think I saw Nova trying it on stream before and he probably did try a lot of other methods.

As long as you don’t have a line of sight to Huntsman, the birds won’t deal any damage. That’s what I did when I tried to solo it (wasn’t able to do it without lots of kiting).

Oh, hm. I didn’t really expect that to be the case because it sounds kind of weird but cool to know.

Yes, I found that you could LoS the birds but it wasn’t a reliable method because there are only a few LoS spots and all of them make it hard for you to see him and dodge his attacks.

Sounds like a job for me then, but likely someone will do it before and my solo would suck in other parts anyway.

I actually paid out 100g to a friend after betting he couldn’t solo the whole path. He did in the next day with a Ranger, letting his Drake tank the final boss.

One drake won’t survive that.

You know when I tried soloing him with my thief, I would occasionally avoid his bird attack with my dodge and other times it just won’t work what up with that?

You can’t avoid his bird attack… only the individual hits of the birds.

I swear I was able to avoid it with my once in a blue moon dodge
