So the LFG tool can be used to destroy other people’s parties. Currently, this is affecting sellers as there is one person who is griefing Arah dungeon sales repeatedly.

Since Anet isn’t going to ever do anything, perhaps sellers should slowly — say, over the course of the next 3 weeks — shift back to gw2lfg.

So for the next three weeks:

  • Post both on gw2lfg as well as on the in-game LFG tool.
  • Tell every customer to, in the future, check gw2lfg instead of in-game LFG.
  • Give a discount to those who joined using gw2lfg (just post a “coupon code” with your gw2lfg post).
  • Post in reddit and these forums about the plan.

If a good number of sellers do this, then customers will get used to going to gw2lfg instead of using the in-game LFG. With this bit of initial momentum, word-of-mouth should reach all potential customers.

If enough sellers move, those sellers who don’t follow face getting griefed even more by this guy, pushing them to move as well.

Not a great solution, but since Anet shows no ability/desire to act, perhaps it’s one of the better options.

Its not only sellers that get griefed, everyone that is in the middle of a path and post on lfg can get the instance killed by that. It happened to me once when i wanted to run arah p1 for my dm, i soloed all the way up to the tar then posted on lfg, 3 people joined but on the last slot the group got merged, i got kicked from my instance and ended up in another totally different group.

So if you are doing a long path like arah p4 for example and need one more pug at the end of it you have a high risk of getting griefed.

One thing that i find weird is that i never heard of people getting the instance killed in fractals, i dont know if its because no one has ever tested it or if fractal instances are immune to that bug.

It’s probably much more rare in fractals because 95% (my estimation, but probably more than that) of NA griefing comes from one guy. That guy happens to choose arah as his favorite. And like Casmurro said, if you lose a player mid-run and post on the lfg, you run the risk of getting griefed. If there’s a sell instance that must be destroyed, this guy won’t hesitate to use a random party to do it, thus destroying both instances.
