Since the update to the Spider Queen causing her to infinitely spawn Underground Recluses along with the Spider Hatchlings – who is ever going to run this path again? The rest of Twilight Arbor is perfectly reasonable and easy enough for a coordinated group.

The jump in difficulty at the Spider Queen boss is shocking. As she is right now, she is in no way doable by certain team set ups (you can’t crit her, for kittens sake). The people who have been able to do the boss required reflect to do it. The spiders summoned do not despawn if you fail and aggro at the slightest provocation. The attacks by a single hatchling are powerful, fast and a multitude – a group of them, with Recluses, can quickly down a player before reaction can be made. And, to my knowledge, dodging the Tree’s poison blobs no longer prevents the spiders from spawning.

In short, the Spider Queen is not a Level 55 dungeon boss. This is a boss that no longer fits with the rest of the design of the dungeon. It’s unfun. It is neigh-impossible for certain set ups.

With quite a number of Spider Queen successful runs under my belt, I attempted this boss fight with a group of veteran guildies. We varied our tactics, looked up advice – nothing worked. This is a group of players that have successful run paths of Arah, which should be the most powerful dungeon in the game. We crushed the dungeon up until the point of the Spider Queen, which we failed to ever beat.

In short: There is no way this boss is working as intended. It is beyond bizarre to me that he most difficult and least faced boss in Twilight Arbor would be changed by developers in order to make her neigh unbeatable by most players – and certainly unbeatable by anyone who is actually level 55.

Regarding the ‘Spider Queen’ thing; considering that the tree essentially consumes Fyonna and reflects her nature as a result I don’t know that it’s much of a stretch.

Beyond that I’ll say this much about this path:
Whatever one’s feelings are about this specific boss, the encounter is inconsistent with the relative difficulty of the final boss of the other two paths.

You just pull the her into the corner so you can cleave through the mobs and she won’t drop poison AoE fields. That’s what we ’re talking about right?

How’d the Spider Queen get all the way from the Catacombs into Twilight Arbor?! Did the giant skelk dig a long tunnel for her?

Hmm, so the path’s worse now eh? Well, good thing I always ran the other 2 instead.

The Nightmare tree seems a little harder then it used to be. I ran this path twice this past weekend and we went in to melee it down. Had two guardians in the first group. One experienced and one not. We got the tree down to 25% before the rotation got messed up and we wiped. We then decided to kite. We first pulled some hatchlings out to clear a little, then went in and started kiting. The spiders normally target one person and they continue to kite while the others take the tree down. Both runs we a success. I don’t understand why so many people have problems with this boss. If everyone in the group is on the same page this fight isn’t that hard at all.

As I was eating dirt, I watched 2 brilliant Elementalists circle kite the boss and defeat it.

The only reason why it gets hard is because parties try to stay at max range inside the tunnel. They fail and run out of combat which bugs the whole thing and spawns more spiders than there’s supposed to be. Then there goes about 5 wipes and people rage quit which makes it even worse.
