Getting real tired of running into warriors using 5 signets. 3 signets is about as far as I would say you can go (healing signet, signet of rage, xx signet unless every utility is possibly taken (2 banners) then I would say you can have 4 signets but for the love of god ALWAYS bring For Great Justice.
Also running into less and less warriors actually using banners.

Its only the full signet warriors that get hate? What about the full signet guardians rangers thieves etc, is it ok for a thief to go full signet but not for a warrior?

The passives aren’t really that weak, but banners should always be covered and FGJ should probably always be locked in (unless you want to take a 30 fire ele, i guess).

I use banners when playing with others and then signets for solo play since banners seem kind of wasted when using them just for yourself. I don’t ever play “all” signets since that’s kind of boring.

I am running war and would never use more than 2 sigs (including heal sig). It sucks when you see a 5 sig warrior because it harms the team a lot. To have a banner in a tough fight does oh-so-much more than a passive x effect stucked only to the warrior when you can boost the precision and crit chance (15%!!!!) for the whole team. Not to mention for great justice, etc. Since the dungeon fights are basically taking place in a static location where people stack together, you cant justify taking sig over banner / FGJ.

To put it simple, politely ask the person using sigs to take a banner at the beginning of the run.

Sadly, a good majority of the 5 signet warriors are usually due to ignorance, and a kind word on explaining the benefits to them in a nonderisive language would probably help them out.

My view of where 5 signet warriors generally come from (with absolutely no backing of proof, only anecdotal observations):

- New player asks someone (possibly even in the GD subforum), “What’s a good class for a new player to use?”
- People usually respond with Warrior and Guardian.
- New player plays warrior and the first 10 point trait that really catches their eye is Deep Strike, because +40 precision sounds incredibly powerful at lvl 11-20, plus they don’t need to worry about pressing more than 5 buttons.
- New player starts playing dungeons and comes across someone who either a) doesn’t tell them the benefits of banners/FGJ or b) the topic is brought up and makes the new player defensive/confrontational, so they continue using 5 signets to “show how good it is”.

This. I usually pug as a mesmer and whenever I able to do so I will try to slot in my Signet of Inspiration to double might stacks or fury for my team. A 5 signet build basically tells me to forget about it.

It really baffles me when I see 5signet warriors (or other full signet build classes) in Arah explo or fotm48s. In pugs when pre-stack is almost non-existent, there is ALWAYS room to slot in a banner of discipline or a FGJ. Specific setups aside, full signet builds usually mean you do not need to expect any sort of party utility synergy from those players.

I’m almost always using 3-4 signets. When both banners are taken the only thing you should bring is FGJ. Healing Signet is the srongest heal warriors have, Signet of Rage is the best Elite we have. Those two are always in. One utility is for a banner, one for fgj and one is free. Signets are usually what to take unless you need something like Shake it Off.

Yep im a scumbag and make the other warriors carry banners so I can go lazy 4 signet warrior. Always have fgj ofcourse. Screw stunbreaks.

Even worse, all the necros I run with use 3 signets.

Ive only witnessed 1 signet necro thankfully.

Uhhh…. nope.. it’s definitely about the passive effects. And they are far from weak. 180 power/precision is nothing to scoff at.

No need for stability when you’re melting bosses and dodging correctly.

I use FGJ, SoR, Healing Sig, SiO and a banner when stacking and BS for running. Stability is important, just not all the time. The extra 8s of speed from BS helps when your SoR is on cooldown.

I run a three signet bar in open world (Heal Sig, Dolyak Signet, Signet of Rage), but I change it for dungeons/Fractals. FGJ is glued to my bar. Second utility goes to a banner. Third utility is either a second banner or SiO, depending on the dungeon and party makeup. If I’m in a guild group, I usually stick with SoR as my elite, but with PUGs I play it safe and bring Warbanner instead.

This thread sorta makes me understand why anet wants to buff ele conjures so hard lately, the only viable party boosting utility we have otherwise is arcane wave on a field. I feel no shame running signet of fire or air almost 24/7.

Play how you want? Ok I’ll go naked bearbow at 1500 range with 3 signets and never revive anyone. It’s how I want it play right? Don’t be an idiot. There’s “play how you want” and then there’s being useless. A warrior bringing 5 signets doesn’t bring anything for the party other than their own damage. Wow gj your signets are 10 points higher than the banners and only apply to yourself thanks adding to the group’s overall effectiveness.

I do run a 3-5 signet build in dungeons and there are plenty of reasons -

1) It never completely fails so I never need to stop and rethink it
2) Stability, condition cleanse, might, fury, etc, are all there
3) It fits with cheesy greatsword builds and I don’t have many exotic weapons on my warrior
4) It has a very low skill threshold and needs little class knowledge to play
5) Its the first build I found and I stuck to it
6) It’s still stronger than my characters in other classes with better skills/traits/gear
7) It’s still performs as well as other characters I see in PUGs so I let nobody down
8) I’ll change it eventually but I haven’t got round to it yet

So take your pick but those reasons are all true for me.

So you are saying that your other classes are probably condition builds? Nothing wrong with playing how you want.

You said 3 – 5 so I will give you the benefit of the doubt, but please make sure you take at least one banner (Strength or Discipline), unless they are taken, and FGJ unless you are in a group where everyone is trying to range everything. Then you can be as selfish as you care to be.

We should make a group keeper. this person or persons will regulate what gear, class, traits and skills are to be used before entering a dungeon, to be sure that everyone is pulling their weight and not being useless.
OR, better yet, why not just stay away from grouping with noobs, newbeees, noobsters, nubs, nublets and so on and just form your own ELITE group of non-useless people who like playing the way you want..

The problem with your logic is… Most people in this forum want to play with people that know what they are doing and want to get done with the dungeon as quickly as possible. That is how THEY want to play.

Then along comes people like you who say well I am the best 5 signet gs/rifle camping soldier wearing warrior that the world has ever seen so I will teach those zerker warriors that I can tank better than a guardian AND deal high damage. You people are the ones joining groups asking for experienced zerker only, then get upset when people come on this sub forum to rant about it. If you want to play knocking everything back with your rifle by all means that is perfectly fine with me.

Don’t expect any sympathy when you get kicked from the group and don’t expect the people with multiple infractions to be kind to you after you see the MATHEMATICALLY proven subpar builds decide that, that is the right way to play and then you force yourself on the “elitists.”

If anything you kittens are elitists because you see the numbers and then you say well I never learned that the default key to dodge is ‘V’ so that can’t possibly be a good build. Then you join the groups expecting to be welcomed with open arms. No that isn’t how it works.

Sort of tangential, but I don’t think GW2 currently has enough build complexity such that anyone could be considered a build “chef”. For every class, only a handful of builds make any sense, and they’re fairly obvious IMO.

You only a have a selection of frozen microwave meals to choose from. And then some people manage to cook those improperly.

Because thief team support especially in the offensive aspect is eh… Rangers can still support great with their pets if they use signets and as long as they have healing spring and off hand warhorn they are accepted.

Full signet build guardians should not do it they should never ever do it. But even if they do… certain symbols/weaponskills provide good team support.

Warriors banners and for great justice are absolutely amazing teamsupport… The big thing is why bring like signet of might or fury which only buff my own stats when I could bring banner of strength or discipline and improve my entire groups DPS significantly…

A 3x Signet Thief is pretty optimal as far as DPS goes. And it’s not like Thief can slot in anything of noticeable value as a 3rd utility. Probably Haste is as good as it gets.
