Story Mode - Let's bring players back to them
Because Anet wants storymode to be run once.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
Why? Some of them have quite epic moments and i’d be happy to revisit them.(and get tokens too) If it’s the story not making sense, well.. it doesn’t already. You can clear them in any order, or skip some of them, and Exp modes are already repeated a lot. (dead npcs coming back to life and then killed again, npcs getting their memory wiped, etc.)I’m sure people will be fine with it.

shouldn’t have kittened with it just because lvl 80’s were getting some silver from it. at the same time it was helping lowbies and new players get a kittening group.
The problem comes from CM. Back in the day you could run CM as basically you’re “AC explore.” People would run it for money and Anet didn’t like that so they nerfed the rewards and increased the difficulty of CM. I think they actually need to tone down the room after the door guard in CM. All those mobs would very easily wipe a full 40 party who was new to the dungeon. But I digress.
I’ve hopped in parties for people who were begging to run story in map chats cause I know how much of a pain it can be to find a party. I don’t get much other than the “thanks for the party” at the end, if that sometimes. I understand why they nerfed the rewards but they have a problem similar to the old fractal problem: people don’t want to do content they’ve done for nothing. I do agree there should be some sort of reward for those who’ve done the content but hop into help someone. The tokens would be a good idea but in VERY limited quantities. If it were even close to the number you got in explore no one would do explore.
I do believe there should be some incentive to return to them, especially the harder ones. With little reward players are loathe to return to them, even to help others.
I think the best way would be fix this would be to give full reward to all players in story as long as at least one of the players had not completed. There. Not easily farmable and rewards become adequate.

I think this is the fairest solution that correctly balances Anet’s and the players’ interests.

Agree with the reason is because of old CM Story farming.
Maybe some of them are too easy or ‘farmable’, but we already have some easier paths that people farm. (CoF p1 comes to mind) If they are still not in line, Anet can adjust their difficulty, similar to what they are going to do with ‘phase 2’ on exp dungeons. Or they can make the gold/item reward not too substantial but still give you daily tokens. There are many workarounds, and I don’t think this change will break the game too much.

Agree with the reason is because of old CM Story farming.
I recall the old CM farming. I gained about 10 levels with it without thinking about it. Just joined a group to complete it for the first time, then they just kept going. Didn’t occur to me as to why at the time.
I am glad that they did something to prevent that abuse, but I think that they may have done a bit much, because I see many people not want to help others with story. And that is a shame.

Wrong, I got a party for SE storymode yesterday.
It takes a bit more dedication in forming a party. Just because you can’t get a party easily as CoF exp, doesn’t mean it is next to impossible.
