Story modes too easy?
I did Arah p3 a few days ago with my guild. We had three first timers with us, with maybe a total of 10 runs spread across the two “experienced” party members (across 2 years of play-time). All of us were surprised how easy it was. There was hardly a fight that stopped us, and the few that did went down easily on 2nd try.
I do remember how tough Arah explorable was at the start, and then it got a little easier when we learned to play properly. But it never felt this easy. Did they change Arah explorable and made it super easy?
They changed story mode dungeons on the last patch, now you are always 2 lvls above the dungeon lvl, so in AC you are lvl 32, CM lvl 42 and so on. And on top of that we do way more damage now since the change to how ferocity scales down to lower lvl areas, so you do a lot more damage and you are 2 lvls higher than the mobs.

Ok, that explains a lot. Missed those notes on patch it seems. We were just really surprised how easy it all was.
Will have to try solo for fun and see what happens.
For most story modes you only need 1 or 2 people(depending on profession) to carry a whole group of new comers.
Knowing the mechanics makes thing much much easier. Want to know if its truly easy ? Do what I do when I do SE story with newbies on my mesmer. Dont reflect anything for the first try each group.
Watch them get massacred for the first try. Then watch them breeze on by when I assist.
Gotta let em know the pain else they may come on the forums complaining that all they do is press 1,2

Really? If so, I think that’s a good change. Dungeons were a big step up in difficulty from the open world content which newbie players were doing before. A lot of players struggled with the learning curve, and I suspect many just wrote off dungeons completely after that. The added levels should help ease the transition.

It was an even bigger shock back before Elite mobs were marked as Elite. I still remember first time in CM waiting for others to deal with their inventories or something, and thinking “Yeah, I can take on these four bandits solo, it’s not like any of them are Veterans.”
I didn’t look at the changes to story either. Maybe I’ll get around to doing them again on my current alt if they’re now as easy as everyone says. It was largely a waste of time to do them again and having to do them on every character if I wanted to be able to open a dungeon was awful.
