So among the many things in the most recent quarterly patch, I find one of the most fun of the small additions are the decoration trophies dropped from various raid and open world bosses. While as decorations they are ultimately just various fragments and body parts, it allows guilds to have some creative fun in the hall by participating in specific content and they can then ultimately upgrade through it their members repeating said content. A similar system added to dungeons would be a small, but nice way to add unique rewards to running the dungeon paths that guilds can have some fun with.

My suggestion would be to add these trophies as a random drop of about the same rate as the boss trophies in the large dungeon chests that spawn after certain sections (or even the final bouncy chest.) Once traded in with the guild hall vendor they would be small, relatively nondescript decorations themed after the dungeons they came from, that can later be upgraded- though not necessarily into actual trophies like the boss ones but more like decorations using the assets used around the dungeons and areas similar to them. I suggest the small, base decoration come from the chests instead of from tokens to incentivize running the path instead of the PvP reward track- though items bought with tokens such as gifts and offerings could be used by scribes in the upgrading process.

(If a player is not in a guild, or is simply uninterested in the decoration, then perhaps they could be able to sell it at an NPC vendor for a small amount of copper or silver simply so the player feels like they weren’t unlucky enough to get something entirely useless.)

The only problem with your cool idea is anet doesnt want people to do dungeons anymore. I doubt they are ever going to add more incentives for them.

Yes, there was a significant drop in end of dungeon gold payout likely in hopes that it would move people to the new and more promoted (like fractals) content with Heart of Thorns (even though there’s a chance they moved to Silverwastes instead to make their gold.) This suggestion didn’t just come from an incentives perspective however, there’s sort of dearth in theme variety and thought it logical to gain access to things like inquest assets to decorate with from Crucible of Eternity or some of the nightmare court/sylvari architecture from Twilight Arbor.

Though I am also not ruling out that I’d like to see some of this implemented in a place like Fractals of the Mists, content currently being promoted and already has promises of new rewards.

While I love the concept, Baconomics.8674 has the right of it. Anet dissolved their dungeon team back in 2013. John Smith wrote specifically, on more than one occasion, that they were “deincentivizing dungeons”. Part of that was taking away gold rewards, but in essence, they do not want people regularly running dungeons anymore. There’s no way they’re going to add any kind of incentives or new things for dungeons.
