[Suggestion] Scale Dungeons by party number
Dungeons are already balanced to be solo’ed except for puzzles that are explicitly player gated.
And since you can sell the paths the rewards scale similarly.
Big issue… /kick, haha get bonus loot, wheeeeee
otherwise I’d love the idea. As hybrid says you can just sell the path, but we all know how troublesome that is currently. But, again, in both cases, yay griefwars.
No, because this would encourage everybody to stop running group dungeons and solo Arah (use Arah as the example because it’s most profitable).
People already do it, but it shouldn’t discourage people from running together. If this were implemented, everybody’s goal would be to get to the point where they’d never need to run with somebody else again. This is bad.
They aren’t interested in discouraging group activity. As it is now, pugging Arah can often times take longer than it can for somebody knowledgeable of the path to solo it. Giving people 15g for soloing paths would mean the death of pugging (at least Arah).
Also as somebody above pointed out… it would encourage kicking people before the last boss to steal the gold they would have been rewarded.
Terrible idea is terrible.
All Anet has to do is balance dungeons around a party of five, rather than… balance the part around a party of two or however they are balanced now. Maybe introduce Hard Mode dungeons.
As for people getting /kicked at the end, that’s just the risk you run when you pug, that’s always been a threat (even moreso nowadays since the elimination of the dungeon leader). Also revert their “no dungeon leader” change. Although I suppose under the current system it is less likely to see a /kick at the end, because the way to redeem that gold reward is to bring in a friend… and people that act that way probably don’t have many friends.
None of this will happen though, because Anet is too stubborn to reverse changes that they have made (don’t expect dungeon leader coming back, enjoy your /kick for the time being), and they have actually said that they are not working on Hard Mode dungeons (massive blow to my guild’s moral, and resulted in many people simply quitting the game).

What Purple said!
/no.
Just a thought for the OP though, find some non dungeon runner friends, people who would be willing to give you the cash if they can grab the tokens. I’m sure I could entice a number of my buddies to do that, mostly wvw players.
If you’re opposed/scared of selling strait up that is.

They are balanced around a party of five. But when there’s no new content for two years, the dungeon paths that do exist get run so many times they become easy.
Just think about how hard people were saying the dungeons were 2 years ago.

That would require some initiative and we all know that person isn’t a rogue :P

No, you didn’t read it carefully. Even if they /kick, since the dungeon had 5 people in it, the final reward is 1/5th. The counter only goes up, never down. So if a party with 5 in it enters the dungeon, the count is at 5 forevermore that instance.
The only way to get a count of 1/2/3/4 is only that number ever joins that dungeon instance. Even if the 5th person came in, turned around and left, the count would now be 5.
This would not kill pugging or anything else, since not everyone wants superhardmode. But it does give those who want it a reason, and proper rewards for doing the superhardmode.
Sorry for missing that part, but I think Miku’s points still stand. It may not kill it but it would be detrimental to the pug environment.
