Sure-Shot Sheamus (Manor P1) is Impossible
I ran CM 1 with a group of half-newbies just after reset, and we killed him the first try through. Even after someone accidentally pulled him as we were clearing the adds. So, yeah, he’s definitely not impossible. Clear all the mobs in the hallway and rooms, and clear the turrets in the rooms. Then clear all of the turrets in the boss room before focusing on him. Once you’re fighting him, keep some space and dodge his very well-telegraphed big attack, or do your best to stay behind him the whole time. It’s very doable; you just need to learn the fight.
First of all, this should be in the Fractal/Dungeon/Raid forum.
Second, stability is your friend. Also, you can destroy the turrets before hitting him. He doesnt do his shotgun knockdown lock until his hp is reduced to a certain amount.
Seamus is hard, until he whips out the shotgun. Then, you can solo him fairly easy. Here’s how:
#1: Don’t fight him in the room full of turrets. Try and pull him outside. Or, if this is the path that he starts outside already… you’re good to go.
#2: Fight him until he whips out his shotgun. This is the hardest part, but reflects can really help here.
#3: Once he has the shotgun, just run around in circles. Run closely around him, meleeing him the whole time. The time it takes for him to fire his shotgun is long enough that, if you’re circling close around him in melee range, he’ll miss. Over and over again. Repeat until he’s defeated.
This part is actually harder for groups. Firstly, because Seamus will often be targeting one player, and the large cone of his attack will catch other players in the crossfire. Second, Seamus will randomly change targets, which may catch you off-guard.
#4: if you aren’t in the proper position, be sure to dodge if you think you’re going to get hit. But once you start circling him it isn’t too bad.
#5: Stability and stun-breaks help, too. But if you are doing the “circle closely around him” strategy right, you shouldn’t need one, except for maybe the first shotgun attack if he catches you off-guard.
They actually changed it to require killing him now? Last time I ran P1 my friends already finished that part. :P
Last time i ran that path he wasn’t killable anyway. You’d do like 90% of his HP and he went friendly.
Was that changed ?

As far as I know, you can still skip him on P1.
Tip: Youtube solo thief cm p1 basement.

No you still can’t kill him in P1.
I haven’t heard of ppl not stealthing the basements for years though.
This thread really takes me back.
When I do P1, we generally have a thief stealth through the basement solo. Don’t have to kill anything down there. The rest of the team runs through the upstairs and meets at the barn.
When you fight him in the other path (P3?), use blinds to help. It’s silly he doesn’t drop loot.

Blinds are pretty good against him, they help against the breakbar.
lol what, get a theif to stealth this and save yourself the trouble.
You can’t even kill him i.e. don’t get loot, just ignore and run past him, do yourself the favor. Otherwise yeah he’s not difficult, nuke the turrets, get him to whip out his shotgun and just keep running through him as he can’t change direction while charging.
You never fight him, you skip him all the time.
Good lord, I came back to look around on the forms and thought someone Necro posted a thread from two years ago.
Did that small time when dungeon rewards were nerfed really pull that many skilled players out of dungeons?

That time pulled a lot of players out of dungeon running, yes. But another part of it was Anet adding Daily Dungeon back as a possible daily, which means lots of people unfamiliar with dungeons do them on those days. The day the OP made this was Daily CM.

If stealthing through half the dungeon is really a skill…..then we’ve hit a pretty big low.
Considering how much power creep we have in the game, its a lot easier just to face rush and kill everything than waste time on an outdated method.

I’ve been saying this for so long lol
Old habits die hard though I guess
LOL, this ridiculous dungeon path? Dude, just dps him down, if you have problems, use stability and reflects.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Here is a guide…
I did P1 the other day with a PUG of total newbs, and me, who’d only done it a couple times three years ago and totally forgot all strategy involved. We cleared it first time through, a few downed, but no wipes in that bit.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
