As it keeps being pointed out to me that I should venture out into the world and help a larger group of people improve and also given the disappointing state of the pick-up scene these days, I’ve decided to open the doors to my brain to any and all people that wish to get started or better at dungeons.
First things first, what do I get out of it?
Your improvement itself is the reward I seek for this initiative, making new friends also doesn’t hurt and helping to improve the overall quality of play of the community as a whole sounds extremely good to me. Revitalizing the arah pug scene is also a goal of mine, keep in mind that I will not teach you how to solo/duo any path there’s already enough people profitting from the community’s laziness to do arah and I intend to minimize not aggravate it.
What am I offering exactly?
I’m offering personalised advice (be your questions about gear, traits, utility/elite skill selection or approach I’m sure I’ll be able to help) and deep insight into every dungeon in the game (not the nonsense someone learns while PUG’ing like ‘stack here, stack there’ but actual teaching of the mechanics so you can beat stuff your own way).
Are there any requirements?
Well, being lv 80 is only solid requirement in-game I would enforce. Berserker’s gear with proper runes and sigils would be nice, but if you haven’t managed that yet it’s not a big deal. I expect you to play a melee damage build however as I will be helping you develop towards the side of efficiency and everyone melee’ing something while sharing boons is the most efficient way of taking anything down.
I’m offering continued assistance in helping you become a great dungeon player and it is not a 1-hour project so feel free to disturb my meditation whenever you have questions or require help.
You’re also expected not to have too much of an attitude, say you’re part of a batch of 4 people in where you’re the most experienced of the lot I expect you not to belittle your group mates simply because you’re farther along than they are, and be able to speak/type and understand english, I might not be up to type for the duration and will give you access to a public channel in my guild’s TeamSpeak server.
Will you do dungeons with me?
Yes, I will do both runs where I aim make you as familiar with the dungeon as possible and runs where I’d like to see how much you’ve improved since the last time we’ve played together.
Though, bare in mind that I have friends and guildies to play with as well so I may only be able to manage a few runs a day with you guys and also any paths that take extremely long to teach (any arah paths because of Giganticus Lupicus) or too long to complete (Aetherpath and Arah path 4) will have to be scheduled ahead of time for the reasons stated above. And don’t ask me to do fractals, I’m definitely not the right person to be giving lessons on that subject!
Also I’m only able to run with 4 people at a time when I find a measure of spare time to dedicate to this and you will have to take that into account as well.
As this moves forward, I expect to keep detailed schedules to give everyone a fair chance of taking part in it.
How do I sign up or get started?
Just add me to your friend’s list in-game, when you catch me online (I’m usually online from 15-16.00 GMT until late in the night) just chat me up with the usual like introducing yourself, what you would like to be helped with, what professions you play and that sort of thing. There’s no reason to fret about your experience or lack there of, that’s the exact reason you’re coming to me for help and despite Leo being my zodiac I’m quite sure I won’t bite (a nibble is all I’ll do in a worst case scenario).
To finish, I expect to receive a lot of requests surrounding Arah paths and I must inform you that we will not be ranging anything unless absolutely necessary such as not enough reflect or projectile destruction skills in our team composition for the armor carrier in SE p3 so guardians trash your scepters, mesmers store your greatswords away, rangers, warriors and thieves get those bows out of my face because we will not be ranging Giganticus Lupicus.
Also these first few days will be an adaptation period for me, I’ve never done something like this before in a free-for-all setting and we’ll see how it goes I suppose.
