Tazza hate when I play Ele
What I sometimes do in pugs if I’m low on health is LOS behind the corner to the left of the stairs until someone else gains aggro.
1. Run away
2. Harpy Feather

The boss does hit a lot. Try waiting for 2-3 others to attack first before you do.
D/F offers good utility for survival. You should be fine with just 66200 and strength sigil + force or something like that. If you’re downing all the time and it’s not from the aoes, not really sure. Try Iris’s suggestion.

I found Energy sigil and trying to dodge the GS attacks really helped, but that was on mesmer when I was getting focused (really curious about the rules on agro in this game, they can be frustrating).
It seems to me that Tazza usually targets those with the highest toughness.
Really? Because I more often than not pull aggro on my berserker 6/6/2 Elementalist.
as a thief I got the same ‘issue’
maybe she just hastes asura?
what race are you
Tazza follows the same aggro pattern as the Golem boss in CoE, typically goes for the squishiest target first. Normally I’d recommend you attempt to Deep Freeze her in order to buy your group some time of uninterrupted DPS to give you a better chance at staying alive through the entire fight as her auto-attacks do hurt quite a bit and are nearly undodgeable, but in a PUG situation (I don’t PUG often so bare with me) I doubt your group will have enough DPS to properly benefit from a Deep Freeze approach to it so take a focus offhand and manage your defensive cooldowns, I’d also recommend taking Arcane Shield just in case the fight becomes longer than expected.

I asked the very same thing.
In my experience, she goes for the higher dps guy and the one who is more far away.
In my personal experience, she goes for squishy. If i am ele, she is very mean to me, When i am ranger she goes for the ele, or if other are heavy she goes for my ranger too
Tazza is a meanie
There is no use to try figuring out the aggro pattern of a boss. I know all of these elements are considered, but not the priority:
- Deal most damage
- Has more Ascended gear
- Has more toughness/ less HP
- Within range of a certain (boss) skill while activating:
Some skills target the furthest (>900) or the closest (<300), etc
As an ele, it’s best to stay at max melee range, in the flanking area. Tazza’s Illusionary Wave targets everyone in front of her and Mirror Blade those who are in range. Deep Freeze + Burst damage is the most straight forward way to kill her. The longer the fight, the more disadvantage you have under focused fire as you run out of block and invuln pretty soon. In that case, just harpy feather and reset the aggro.

I have similar issues with Tazza’s GS auto attack. From what I heard, using slaying potions can have an adverse affect of drawing aggro because of the extra damage and the damage mitigation can act similar to raising toughness/armor. So if you are the only one in your pug using a potion, you’ll be pulling more aggro because of extra damage/toughness.
You could also try using an earth ele to draw aggro and stand behind it to block the autoattack and follow the above posts (ice bow freeze/don’t attack first).
I’ve seen that when I play with a friend of mine who plays ele. Tazza hates elementalists almost as much as the Butcher in HoTW hates Rangers.
Yep Tazza hates berserker Eles. Actually, a lot of bosses in this game hates them but it’s really more noticeable against Tazza.
But why do they do that ? Some say it’s because bosses aim at either :
-highest DPS
-lowest health
-highest toughness
-a mix between that
Jesus doesn’t give anyone more than they can handle. The same can be said for Tazza. If you get the most autoattacks, its because she knows you can deal with it bravely.
Thank you very much for all the response. I also checked the 6 month old thread similar to this one and got additional information.
I have never considered running away (can’t do anything, “not stacking”, difficult to get ressed)
or stealth. I have different stacks of those items but I rarely use. And I almost never use them for easy paths.
I’ll try using them now to restore cooldowns when I’m in trouble.
As for Energy Sigil, I haven’t decided yet on a cost-effective spread of expensive sigils/ascended weapons
to reach meta builds for several characters so I couldn’t make my mind up if I should put it on an ascended focus
or an ascended dagger. For now I don’t have one, but I realize it’s a big help so I should look into getting one soon.
I also have the habit of rushing first, more than half the time doing the pulling, but I guess I’ll leave it for the others. I’m not yet used to having summon glyph elite so sometimes I only remember to summon
the earth elemental during the fight, but by then I guess it’s too late. I’ll be sure to do that before might/while waiting.
Here’s my experience:
When I used to fight Tazza solo with my necro in 6 pieces of knights armor, she would always target me with her GS #1 attacks. When I switched those out to zerker, she always targeted my minions.
Just FYI, ascended gear is a big joke in this game. With downscaling and stat caps you pretty much lose most advantage of ascended gear in sub 80 content. So it’s not that bad to use exotic gear.
