Druid (with the right build). You get heals plus tons of unique DPS buffs:

Spotter
Glyph of Empowerment
Frost Spirit
Sun Spirit
Grace of the Land

Although I have not tried it yet in our raid group I’m convinced tempest is a better option for Vale Guardian. In order to give ranger buffs to the right people he needs to be in their party and that means he is also leeching buffs he isn’t using. Better off using a dps ranger and add him to the dps party and have the tempest ele alone .

Druid by far. Better healing, better damage buffs.

Do not roll a Tempest Healer.

Tempest. You can consolidate your healer and your tank into one character as a tempest. A Tempest tank can be self sustaining and still provide huge healing to allies, leaving a 9th slot for DPS.

Runs being done with Druid and without, so I guess whatever you want.

Yeah from what I’ve read people are looking at tank ideas that can have good sustain needed for tanking while taking the minimum amount of non zerk gear (so a few cav trinkets or toughness food to get aggro) which is why people are suggesting reaper and dragonhunter for that. Reaper especially because in shroud makes survivng and soaking up damage so easy while you still are in mostly zerk so you can still deal a lot of damage.

I meant that for the second boss you will not take a tank like ever. There’s no clear aggro mechanic and even if there was such, the enrage timer is so short you cannot allow yourself to reduce your damage potential.

Some say theres a Tempest Tank Build (condition damage) that is super easy to run with. But to tank the boss of course.

Actually, I think they made a Druid pretty much the Holy Priest of GW2. And it’s worse in here, because there’s no place for 2nd healing spot.

Since Druid not only brings good healing, but also a lot of unique damage modifiers, other healing supports can’t compete. Be it Ventari Revenant, Tempest healer or anything else, you just can’t bring that damage increase to rest of the group.

It’s not even that Druid outheals other professions, because on such stationary targets it does not.

While there are many options for players holding aggro, there seems to be only one healer everyone wants. And that is bad.

What a great thing we can retrait and swap gear between encounters if necessary.
I agree though, for the first encounter you should take a class that doesn’t give up much if you’re going for a tank.

I didn’t notice it at all. It seemed fine on my Gorseval kill which was after the hotfix last night. The only thing annoying about it was that I couldn’t stack my AF to full pre fight with Signet of the Wild.

You’re probably not going to notice it in Raids as there is a lot of damage flying around and a lot of healing up time to generate AF but in other areas of the game it’s much more noticeable.

Seems like Tempest can fill the role of tank,healer and support at the same pretty well n so I would probably say Tempest.

For raids:

Tempest is a worse healer and doesn’t give damage modifiers. There is no debate here. Druid is a better healer if looking for someone for the heal role.

The nerf to AF today is irrelevant for raids. There’s so much ambient damage that the Druid should have 0 problems building up AF.

Honestly, as an Ele main, it kinda annoys me to see people trying to promote a Tempest healer, when Druid is so much better as a healer. Ele is a fine class and has its role to fill, but that role is NOT main healer.

Agreed with this, I see no reason why to use a tempest healer over a druid healer.

I do wonder, would elemental bastion aurashare have a use on a zerker dps ele, to add a bit of group support rather than being the ‘healer’, or would the loss in air traitline never be worth it? Anyone with experience in the matter?
