Can the Anomaly please get a damage taken buff at 20% ?

Everytime ive done it the groups involved keep getting killed by the pure randomness of the whole fight, 20-25% usually everyones nearly dead or fallen

From what i can recall this has never been addressed even when it was Living World

Funny, in the couple dozen times I’ve done Thaumanova, I think I’ve only had a party wipe at Anomaly…once or twice?

So, no. I don’t think it needs a… squishification debuff. If anything, I’d just want to have the platforms be less transparent.

If you and your party are having trouble, try spreading out and then not moving until necessary. Fewer people moving means less chance of someone trapping a party member on a soon-to-fall platform. When the bomb debuff hits you, run to the outer edge and then around to avoid teammates.

Sorry to hear it’s been frustrating. But it is manageable.

Oh yeah, Destabilized.I forgot about that.
Though that room doesn’t open up until after scale 20 and is mandatory on 40+. So I’m guessing with the level scaling, it ends up being roughly the same fight.

Opening up that room for under scale 20 would be an ok change.

The biggest issue I have with the fight is the bright ball of light below the Anomaly. It makes it hard to see the platforms and is generally just annoying to look at

Nothing in that fight is all that random, although aggro in that fight can be hard to manage (if you have a ranger, have them send the pet in first; he focuses on that and that pet never falls).

It’s a matter of practice, of learning tells, of avoiding panic when you run out of tiles (and realizing there are some, just not where you wanted them). Save your dodges, use blocks tactically, don’t move if you don’t have to, don’t run towards friends if you have “da bomb”, watch his tells — any of those will help.

It’s never been addressed because people have learned how to overcome it.

It even might be better if 3 of the party falls down. It is easier to go solo than with 5. (I have played only levels < 40 or so. Don’t know what is at levels near 100.)

Destroy all portals at bridge level; they pull and immobilize players which is bad if tile vanishes below.

We have tried tactic where in the begin all hits the boss in melee, as much damage as possible. If players fall, then there is less health left for the rest.

The real problem so far was level 48. The fight just lasts so long with Anomaly having all buffs all of the time that platforms being permanently destroyed in phase 2 become a real problem. Boon stripping doesn’t really work. Boon corrupt might, but then boon corrupt builds are generally useless in pve outside this instability.

I don’t play this map in higher lvls so this is what works for me in unexperienced parties.
1. I tell them not to attack till I buff them, to take ranged wep and some pets.
2. When party has might stacks, I run to boss screaming so others would follow me.
3. We dps like crazy.
4. Those that are blind or don’t listen to cute asura npc telling them to move their butt die to the first falling platforms.
5. Time to range and kill others by running to them when beam is on me.
6. Spawn earth elemental when eveyryone is dead and/or things get steamy.
7. Enjoy the scenery while elemental is tanking, throw in some autos.
8. Boss dead and everyone in party is planning to make elem their next char.

ps: added a bit of flavour but that’s how generally unexp fights go in thaumanova. save your pet till you are either the only one alive or when boss is low. Pet makes the fight easy.

I recently tried (not thau but other boon on crit maps) corrupt build. Would maybe work if more people had boon corrupt builds but if 4 are regular zerker builds, 1 boon cor doesn’t do much cos those 4 just reapply those boons really quickly.

Oh, not for removing boons, but rather for turning them into some really nice condi damage. Removing boons doesn’t really work unless everyone runs really low precision (but then dps goes down the hill too, and we’re back to it taking way too long).

(though, i’d say that’s not really a problem with the fractal itself, but with the instability being really bad)

At 40+ pug groups, I don’t notice much issue with the anomaly. I think more groups struggle with Subject 6.

I do the same but I dont need a puny earth elemental i go regen/shout warrior.
