I have no idea if people would appreciate this as much as I would and I know its never gonna happen, but I just wanted to share my thoughts.

Current Fractals:
What I do at the moment is:
Low Daily Frac + 2 and 10
High Daily Frac + 21 and 40
3 Swamps over 50 (56, 67, 77 or 67, 77, 83)
And im fine with that except for the 3 Swamps over 50 that are boring af.

Old Fractals:
Daily LvL 50 (searching for Swamp start)
Daily LvL 40 (searching for Swamp start)
In both cases hoping not to get Mai Trin as a Boss Frac.
So I actually enjoy the new Fractals more than this because I can still do less if I dont have enough time. But theres 1 thing that scares me. The current system shows that Anet is not going to intruduce new Fractals at any time (or they would have to rearrange all levels).

So this is what I came up with:
Like you can choose between Story and Explorable Mode in Dungeons you will now be able to choose between “Beginner Mode”, “Advanced Mode” and “Challenge Mode” (all names are placeholders) instead of choosing a level.

Beginner Mode:
Inside Dessa’s Lab you are able to choose a level (by talking to a NPC or something). The Beginner Mode correspond to the difficulty of current LvL 1-20. No agony required. Advantage: You dont have to rejoin Fractals every time to choose another level. BUT shorter/easier Fractals are rewarded with less Encryptions (Swamp and Molten Duo will only give 1, decent Fractals 2 and harder/longer Fractals 3, I think Mai Trin is not that easy for beginners).

Advanced Mode:
Here you are able to choose your Fractal aswell. But the Fractals are harder than before. Agony Resistence ist required (Number Im thinking of atm is 35, thats still obtainable by casual players without a lot of ascended armor but too much for beginners to just jump into it). Shorter/easier Fractals are here rewarded with 3 Encryptions, decent ones with 4 and harder ones with 5. Mistlock Instability: The current instablilities are boring and unimaginative. Here, every Fractal should have its unique, the Fractal fitting instability (didnt come up with anything yet though).

Challenge Mode:
The purpose of this mode should be to challenge you and not bore you like doing 3 LvL50+ Swamps. It will work a bit like the old Fractals though. You start with category 3 Fractal (thats a long Fractal like Underground Facility Fractal or Cliffside Fractal). So you can actually search for a starting Fractal again but starting with a category 3 Fractal hopefully restricts the searching cause it doesnt matter which long Fractal you run. After that you have to run a category 2 Fractal (like Thaumanova Reactor Fractal, Uncategorized Fractal or Solid Ocean Fractal) and a category 1 Fractal (like Swampland Fractal or Molten Boss Fractal). In the end you will always have to face Mai Trin.
Mistlock Instability: Chaos this should help making it a bit harder without just being kittened. 1. Enemies apply random conditions (except for fear… maybe). 2. Enemies apply Agony. 3. When you go in downstate ghosts spawn that will try to finish you (you can still cc or dodgen them). Apart from that each Fractal still has its unique instability. Challenge Mode requires 100 Agony resistance (Im at 109 atm and I still have 3 open slots but 150 is too much and just expensive to reach instead of challenging, for 100 you still need ascended armor).

I could make a list of Pros and Cons but that would only be my personal opinion. So now its your turn to tell me what you think about it. Share your thoughts.

I think instead of doing 3 swamps, you can do 57, 60, 67. Throw in that jade instead of a swamp, saves your sanity of running wisps. Usually I’m all wisped out after running 2.

Sorry but I just think you are perpetuating what is already a broken system. So if they want to add more to their system, sure it does just that, but it doesn’t fix anything.

This is how I imagine fractals:
Remove AR from the game. Increase fractals count to 125, doubling the difficulty every 5 fractals with more difficult mist singularities. Or do the opposite so there are more people available for each fractals: decrease the total fractal count to 75, making the 50 about where the current 100 is in difficulty.

Fractals should be about skill, not about having a separate full set of ascended/legendary gear; on which you can max out a grind stat whose only purpose is to tell people who don’t have it (or don’t buy HoT): You can’t play. You shouldn’t need HoT to play content you originally had access to in gw2. Nor should you need to buy a separate gear set or grind a stat who’s only purpose is to keep people from trying challenging content.
