Hey I was looking at getting an ascended Magic Find set since I already got the rings for it but realized that the back slot only gives 5% Magic Find. How can ascended gear be a higher tier if Wayfarer’s Spineguard with Exquisite Opal Jewel gives 7% Magic Find? Both the Magic Find ascended rings gives 10%, so why isn’t the back slot giving the same increase in stats? And pls don’t even think about giving me crap replies like ppl buy it for the toughness and vitality.

Basically I see 3 ways in which this can be fixed:

1. Buff the MF stat on this capacitor(PLS DO NOT do something like changing the stats on new capacitors and not changing them on the ones ppl have already)

2. Coming up with a recipe for crafted MF infusions

3. Creating a new Fractal Capacitor with 10% Magic Find stat(which will suck big time for ppl who already the MF one).

So are both of u trying to imply that MF gear is only used in FOTM. Omg so narrow minded and shallow. Have you considered the fact that with the drop of stuff like precursors being so low it just might help having extra mf?

Yes I do agree with that but my point here if about ascended gear being a higher tier, which means it should be carrying more stats. And how is the MF fractal capacitor being a “higher tier” when it gives less MF then a rare back slot.

OMG why do ppl keep talking about using MF in FOTM. Where in any of my post did I even mention using MF gear in FOTM.

PLEASE STOP BEING BLIND kitten and post stuff about using MF gear in FOTM.

An F.Y.I to those ppl who’s current GW 2 experience is all about FOTM, there are other things that this games offers which MF gear can be used for.

I suppose if you are a mf min-maxer, then yea the mf stats on the backpiece should keep pace with other backpieces (with orb) currently available

Actually the question was very badly worded. U are looking to getting an “ascended” magic find set. We almost all assumed u will upgrade ur back item. And then this is what came up to my mind:
You just spent hrs getting 1k+ relics + mats and are considering getting a back item. and then with the possible extra 5 agony resist then u r not going to use it except for farming? I was totally bewildered. And it didn’t make sense at first.
And that was what everyone assumed, including me.

Back to ur question. I will wait till jan cuz they r making changes to fotm. Who knows what changes they will make. I have a similar argument about healing.

i think i can answer this… the magic find capacitor from fractal is not the primary stats, they are secondary stats. explorer sets magic find are primary stats… so thats y even though they are ascended, the capacitor magic find will be less compared to the exotic explorer version of backpack

Precisely this.

As for the comparison with 10% mf rings, rings give more stats in general than backslots. You can see this by comparing rings and backslots. There’s quite a lot of stat combinations missing in ascended gear.

Seems pretty fairly worded to me: Why the hell does something that is meant to be an upgrade have the same MF% as the rest of the gear? I read nothing about using it in fractals, and I read nothing about being a burden to the team. Please double check what you read before abusing a person for using MF gear in FOTM.

Anyway to answer the OP, it’s because it’s not the primary stat. I don’t really think 1 or 2% extra MF would be worth tonne of grinding on one with MF as it’s primary stat either.
