Don’t be afraid to post your group in LFG with the name something like

Newb run
For new players
Anyone can come.
no req.

for Any dungeon.

it WILL fill up kitten FAST.

just because you only see. selling p2 for 5g or Zerk only or 5k archiev.

that does not mean there is no other runs there are ALLOT of people HUNDREDS waiting outside who don’t like to make their group waiting the moment to see a LFG post that has no req.

the people joining these kind of groups usualy pretty friendly or quite.

-Stellaris
-Total War: Warhammer
-Guild Wars 2

You do realise your post won’t change anything right?

The problem is with the in-game community, which is vastly different than the small part of the community that frequents the forum and therefore is definitely more knowledgeable than the majority.

Most of the in-game community barely knows about the lfg, go figure (I didn’t know it was possible, but was proved wrong). Many of them are still lingering outside dungeons or are convinced that you have to manually walk to the door to get in. They’re just… completely lost. Clueless.

You shouldn’t have to tell other people how to be sociable in MMOs :/

There has been plenty of threads of people complaining of other’s lfg that have a requirement, if they have time to complain on the forum I’m sure they will see a thread about a magical tool in the game

Thanks for sharing OP. It’s always great to hear that newer players are capable of using the “Advertise My Party” button.

I know that sounds sarcastic, but stick around on these forums long enough and you’ll realize I’m being serious…

Keep on encouraging others to do the same!

You shouldn’t have to tell other people how to be sociable in MMOs :/

The average LFG dungeon run that I’ve experienced is conducted without a single word said in chat, so being sociable is less common in my experience than you seem to suggest.

I wish more new players would say they’re new, they don’t talk, don’t ask questions, don’t ask for advice, they just screw up runs and never listen then get kicked.

You poor poor soul….I don’t think I have ever run a quiet dungeon. Then again I don’t generally join “80 bezerk speedrun 9million ap or kick” groups, so perhaps that has something to do with it.

i think you guys dont realize there are a lot of lurkers here. Yall are probably pretty scary for a lot of players.
People come here looking to see what dungeons are about, even if they dont speak. I think this type of post may actually cause a few players to make these parties.

As has been said, people can get intimidated by seeing a lot of p1 zerk experienced 6k ap parties, and think thats all there is.

Still relatively new (not even done a full 28 days of login yet!) to the game and I’ve done mainly CoF and SE, but still feel like I’m not experienced yet despite sneaking myself into a p1 exp run of SE.

My biggest problem on the server I’m on (Yak’s bend) is it seems like there’s more people asking for experienced runners than non. Also even though I can do p1 for both instances I couldn’t tell you a single reason why I do things in runs that I do outside of the dredge boss in SE where you’re not supposed to move much.

That and while I know those two runs are quick. I’m not sure what other instances I should do since they seem to be the best place to make money for me and I need to stock up on materials if I ever plan to make a legendary. Although my guild has been helpful enough to point me in the direction of CoF and SE p1 path; I find other than the wiki there’s no good information on dungeons that I can quickly check for boss mechanics.

LFG isn’t bound to a server. You should take a read at gw2dungeons.net , it is truly awesome and has everything. Just by reading it you’ll easly fit in any party.

I saw a guy in the lfg saying he was new, his party filled relatively fast and I sent him the build guide for his class which he was happy for. I think that’s a good thing, even if we don’t want to/don’t have the time to play with them, linking them guides and etc can still be useful and once they get their builds worked out I often take em on a few runs to get into it.

Oh and Xinoxlx.5831, try adding CoE 1,2,3, those are good paying paths with a chance for charged lodestones and charged cores. The dungeon tokens can be redeemed for exotic zerker gear or rare gear to salvage for ectos. Arah is well paying but will require a decent team which can be hard to find in a pug. Oh, and hitting SE P3 while you’re at it is fairly easy.

@OP

Good post!!

Yes use the LFG. The LFG is your friend!

Also check out this thread, for more helpful noob tips about the LFG. (Shameless plug incoming.)

I think if we can get new players to not think like the beta weekend vets with thousands of hours under their belts, we can have an effect on the dungeon culture and maybe make it so running dungeons isn’t looked on as a elite experience only for those who have mastered the game and are at the highest skill level.
