It’s been my (and many in my guild I’ve talked to) that there are no dungeons a person can comfortably run until they are well beyond the minimum level specified. I know AC says you can do Exp mode at level 35, but realistically, you might be able to get away with 1 or 2 level 35-45 toons in a party (maybe), but the rest better be full 80’s w/ exotic gear or you won’t make it based solely on the OP nature of the dungeon.

Now, I’ve run AC paths dozens and dozens of times and can usually clear a path in 20-30 minutes running with ~80 level toons so we definitely understand the mechanics, how to play, what to do, etc. If I took those same 4 people and we all ran the same exact character classes but at level 35-40 each, I can pretty much guarantee either we’d fail or it’d be a very long,. frustrating grind to accomplish if that’s possible.

In other words, it’s not that we’re not good or don’t understand how to “dodge” or how to play our character or what the best strategy is in an exp path, it’s that the path itself is simply too much for anyone who’s not geared at a much higher level.

So, bottom line, are most of the “lower level” dungeon’s way to OP for the level they specify? Or are some more accurate and AC just really OP? Thoughts?

I’ve done almost every path in the game at the intended level. I leveled my Mesmer, Warrior and Ranger almost entirely in dungeons. My Ranger literally did each dungeon when it first opened up, I believe it even did AC at 34.

I’ve just started a Guardian, Leveled it up 20 levels in crafting and popped into AC explorable today even with the new changes succeeded all paths, though path 3 boss was painful. Our Pug team also included a level 43 elementalist, 47 Necro and 60 guardian, only 1 player was 80. Successfully tanked both Hodgkin’s burrow room and the spikes without dying. So very possible.

Did a pug with two new players last week, they kittened up their advert and were wanting story but advertised P1. So we ended up doing P1 with them. One was a level 31 thief another 37. After explaining each fight it was one of the smoothest runs I’ve done.

I feel that most dungeons are more about technique than stats. Though there are a few that are DPS races. Though off course stats give you a bit of leeway.

Dude, if you really manage to pull what you say you do, hats of to you but you are the extreme exception. Not only do I hear it all the time from people who from AC in my guild, I see it all over these forums. AC is a starter dungeon that most people don’t feel is worth doing till your much farther than the “min level” and most say they really only want full 80’s.

I know CM has gotten a similar rap and while you could accurately say that some of these complaints come from people who don’t take the time to learn the dungeon and how to play your character well, or even don’t know how to syngerize well with other team mates/skill sets there’s many, many good and competent players who know how to play the game but will not do AC with any fewer than 3 of the 5 being full 80’s. I know, I’m one of them. It’s just too painful otherwise.

That’s not quite what I’m saying, I could be the most amazing froody player ever, it wouldn’t matter, as I run these dungeons with a team. Quite regularly with low level pugs. What I’ve found its that level doesn’t matter that much, I’ve had full 80 teams that have been useless, and low level teams that have been really relaxed and fast. It feels that what is more important than level is the ability to adapt. If things don’t work stop explain clearly and go again.

A prime example of this is the Hodgkins burrow room. This room is not a DPS speed race as people think. The back left burrow doesn’t spawn till you kill the front burrow. You can kill the other 3 burrows and then just sit there clearing mobs and getting back cooldowns before you kill the front burrow and deal with the scavengers from the back left burrow. If you do it this way there are far less things that can go wrong. And I think any team of any level could do that room with no issues.
