Guild Wars 2

At launch, I got my character up to 80 in about a month, then decided to take a break from the game for a while. About a week ago, I came back to this game and was having a good time (the Laurel thing was a cool addition). Then, me and my brother wanted to give Fractals of the Mists a try. After spending 30 minutes in an empty Lion’s Arch spamming “LFG” I gave up and came here.

My brother suggested that we try another dungeon, but then I remembered that I haven’t completed the Story Mode for any of the dungeons past Caudecus Manor. With the extreme difficulty and insanely disappointing time-sink that is finding a dungeon group, the chance of me finding a group for a story mode dungeon is almost nil.

I’m not trying to talk out my a** and say something like “OMG, fix this or i’ll never play this again!!1!”, but I seriously feel like I’m missing out on 40-50% of this game (not to mention the Monthly that I’m constantly reminded of that I would like to complete).

I have also seen plenty of posts here claiming that Anet currently has no plans for a LFG tool. I was going to suggest that a LFG tool would be a simple solution, but aside from that, I’m can’t offer a suggestion.

My only intention with this post is to bring to light an alarming and disappointing problem, and possibly start a discussion that may lead to a solution.

This website is being used for almost all groups until ANet updates the in-game LFG tool.

if your going to spam LFG in LA makes sure you do it in map chat. Months ago i used to spam in say chat and it didnt get me anywhere lol. Using map chat you should be able to find dungeon groups.
gw2lfg.com is still better tho.

Still would be nice to hear from someone at Anet, just so we know that they’re aware of the issue and are working on it. Because I can’t believe that they’re too thrilled about the community trying to fix a hole they created.

A dungeon/group finder is in the works (see my sig), which would obviously contradict what was mentioned previously about making a similar LFG tool. Obviously, there is a demand for such a feature so Anet is doing their best to getting that out as soon as they can. When can we expect it? Who knows!

I tried out gw2lfg.com this weekend, and it is great! Groups can form up very quickly using that site. Cross server grouping for dungeons also helps make this a lot easier.
