Took us about 3 hours and 45 minutes to finish.

Good Job! I went in challenge mote with a couple guildies and random people but we got stuck at second boss, then I had to sleep. MAMA was a great encounter to begin with, definitely a mini raid; I was tired and still have no idea what to do when second boss phases and 4 beasts spawn. Will definitely try it out again today.

The challenge mote for 100 is a complete overhaul of the original fractal. Instead of the 3 regular bosses you fight a reskin of them with many mechanics overlapping, including new ones that are not present on the original Nightmare. It is a true test of mettle for people who used to claim Fractals did not live up to the challenge (pun intended, this is literally the achievement for running it, which I hope it’s daily or weekly!).

The collection for Ad Infinitum if that’s what you mean, remains the same; you just go to 98 instead of 100. The challenge mote for 100 is a whole new thing altogether, tied to this “Harbinger” stuff.

The achievement is hidden until you complete it.

Should be right at the beginning before you jump down. You need to have all the achievements listed under Nightmare Fractal tab completed first to have it show up or someone in your party who has completed to activate it..

just did it aswell, absolutely amazing fun. Truly impressed with Anet. Some of the best PvE content ever. And imo the hardest PvE thing ever, on a personal level. Raiding is more group coördination. But in terms of dodging, when to use what? Hardest ever imo.

For those who’ve tried this, how many Echo vets spawn at first phase during the 2nd boss? Is it 4 or 5? I’m asking as it looks like you have to kill all these vets or you insta-wipe , and if so it becomes a dps race there

And for those who beat this, can a mesmer melee one down quickly enough?

4 always spawn. If the mesmer is in zerk gear? Maybe but it’ll be tough for sure

At least this means someone can help mesmer kill one if can’t do solo.

Also, can you even get the ‘Up to the Challenge’ achievement if you haven’t yet completed ‘Nightmare Fractal’? (this is ofc assuming you party up with someone who can open Challenge Mode.)

Not sure Day. You definitely need to have all the achievs to see the challenge mote appear but i’ù unsure if you get the achievement if you do it without the achievs done.

Yes you can get “Up to the Challenge” before you complete your meta. That happened to me because my Aegis blocked me from getting “Another Goo Puddle” and I was too lazy to get it again right away.

How do you even get “Another Goo Puddle”? I tried tanking all of his abilities, but nothing seemed to trigger it. My next guess was to stand underneath his spawn spot like Claw of Jormag and Shatterer’s squish achievement, but I haven’t tried that yet.

You have to stand below the “cocoon” he’s in, before he spawns, that way when you spawn him he will fall on you.

We just completed this and it only took like ~45 mins or so – really great pug! And that was with a few wipes (all of us were experienced and knew what to expect though).

I’m sure that soon really pro teams will be doing this in <30 mins.

And yes, this is by far my favorite 5-man content

we did the same too today, very smooth and solid run with this pug today around ~35mins. I got a blue core sold for 12g, there is another guy got a core too at final boss.
