Voted out of Group
I haven’t heard anything from Anet on possibly changing the kick feature to 3 votes. It seems this issue comes up often enough that it definitely needs addressed.
Either way, at least report these guys. I’d contact the other guy and make sure he reports them as well.
1. Thief.
2. Fully exotic and ascended
3. I started the groupI have done enough CoF to gear up several alts, and I was playing on my main character. I have never been accused of playing poorly in CoF.
Two friends joined the group, there is no doubt in my mind they kicked me. Their English was poor, one had to talk for the other. One of the other members didn’t understand the last fight because he had never done path 2 before, I’m sure he was also kicked. I believe I was kicked for defending him/explaining the fight to him. Even so no one should have been kicked, we won in the end. Everything seemed totally cool, I was shocked to get kicked. Only 2 votes to kick someone out of the group is ridiculous.
You should see how kicking someone from a guild is handled …
You should see how kicking someone from a guild is handled …
How is that handled?
Also, it is quite ridiculous that you only need 2 people to kick someone from the group and they are instantly removed from the dungeon. Seems like an over sight in the design with the designers not expecting how rude some people can be.
The other day I was running a Sorrows Embrace path 3 and I had forgotten how exploitable that path is. They kicked me real quick after the first boss for not standing on top of the wheel where the boss can’t attack you and saying it was a terrain exploit.
That’s why I’d rather be the one to open the dungeon than leave that to someone else.
Let’s see them kick me and get away with it!
Sorry to hear you got kicked. Its just my belief that even if they increase the required votes to 3 that it wont get rid of this issue. I’ve been fortunate it would seem and have never been kicked from a group.
I know this wont be a popular statement and its just my own personal opinion. I find GW2’s pve community to be the worst I’ve ever experienced in any MMO and I’ve played a bunch. There are so many rude and ignorant people in the game. Sometimes the elitists are among the worst offenders. My block list is huge and I usually turn the other cheek rather than let a rude player upset me.
I dont know how they handle this kind of griefing. I mean its pretty much a he said… they said… sort of thing right? Who can prove what?
Only advice I can offer is when it happens dont let it bother you just move on as quickly as possible. It has to really stink to get griefed this way but if you let it bother you then they win…… in a way.
That sort of action is reportable under Griefing provided that you have the names of the individuals responsible. However, you can’t really report them in-game since there is no “Griefing” option in the in-game reporting tool. I think you have to put in a ticket.
As a leader, you should ensure that you or any of your close friends/guildies are the first ones to enter the instance first. If you find out that you or your friends aren’t the first one who entered first, then you should disband and start again. If you use GW2LFG to recruit outside of your server, then you could easily tell by mousing over names and checking the server name in parenthesis. If it’s not the name of you or your friend’s server, then it’s obvious that it’s the pug that walked in first. Otherwise, you can tell who walked in first by watching the cutscene and checking out who’s on it.
If that means you have to complete Story Mode on all the characters you intend to do Explorable Mode on, then might as well to minimize the chances of grief.
