Want Faster Dungeons with no Skipping?
I am gonna guess that we will see more posts on making the stealthy path you suggested unskippable as well.
I have a feeling that this is not who the game is supposed to be played, nether what A-net intended…
The problem with saying “it isn’t what ANet intended” is that there have been developers that have posted saying that they put leashing of mobs in place for a purpose. There are mobs there that are definitely optional to fight as well. Heck, even some they said should be purposefully avoided.
My personal stance is that I’m good with skipping when I’m in a group that wants to skip, and I’m also fine in a group that wants to kill everything – however, both ways I just want to make sure that people know what they’re getting into and they set their gear/utilities appropriately for it.
If you join a party, politely find out how the run starter wants to handle the run. If you are the starter, just make sure people know how you want to handle the run.
If you remove the leashing on mobs you just promote stealth mechanics so that enemies never notice you running past them. Players will find other tricks such as running to die in safe revival spots. Any solution needs to be well thought through.
Please stop making these posts.
Thank you.

Why are feelings always involved -_-

Feelings are always involved. When you call out bads on their (usually)idoitic stuff, they feel all hurt and feel inclined to report you to the mods because they can’t deal with this feeling.

No,
But not because I don’t recognize the massive positives to resolving an issue with a year’s worth of negative feedback. Rather I think they should go about it by constructing new content that removes all the clumsy ambiguity of a GW2 dungeon run, as opposed to trying to retrofit a large sweeping solution onto older content.
For one, as others have said, it probably wouldn’t work out so hot. For two, this is just another checkbox on quite the laundry list of things they need to tackle. Less HP sponges, a means to mitigate control skills without trivializing them completely, expanding viable building options beyond berserker; there’s so much they need to revise that they’d basically be starting over from scratch anyway. May as well handle it all in one big lump.
Gw1 Elite Undergrounds were Lengthy.
Gw2 dungeons are Cute.
Tafu.
That is all.

I got infracted for telling someone to stop running a bad build.
That is how petty people on this forum are.

Really?
Well I know the dungeon team was pretty much dismantled to form a LS team, it might be awhile till we see any of these minor issues being addressed. People still clip through dungeon walls to skip about 90% of the dungeon. These issues have been there since day 1, and have yet to be fixed.
To bad about Robert though. He did close many different exploits in several dungeons, and he did have some interesting ideas for future boss encounters. Also Robert was one of the few people who wanted to get things like the Mursaat to come back to GW2. I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
Nevertheless I think the right way to have people not skip trash is by simply creating some positive reinforcement. Something like for every trash mob you deal with basically increases your overall rewards you get at the end of the dungeon. As a matter of fact I am hoping to see a system like this in next SAB update that arives on Tuesday. However that is pure speculation based off on the idea that Josh Formean rigged the score mechanic to a reward system.

Well, in gw1 there were Underworld and Fissure of Woe and they were like “dungeons” for 2h+ each with a normal run. Then we invented the speed runs and they were doable in 30- minutes each. Those speed clear were so fun. If 1 person failed at his work it mostly went up all to trash <3
