I hate starting a group for a dungeon only for someone expecting us to wait for them to finish up their events. People are even saying “give me 5 minutes to finish this event.” Are you kidding me? That’s what kick is for, but lately people haven’t be voting yes. I think it’s pretty inconsiderate to expect a group to wait on you unless the event/boss is almost dead, which should be clarified when joining. Right?

Good etiquette is difficult to expect from PuGs sometimes. There’s a number of other issues besides this one. At the very least, people should be joining the dungeon group only if they’re ready to participate. Sometimes, I’ve had people without the dungeon zone map, spending 10 or more minutes trying to run across zone maps.

Just start without them xD
I don’t see any problem since there is only one dungeon/fractal where you need more then 1 person at the beginning

The thing is, it is often difficult to find that one last party member. So at some inevitable point one of your party members invites a guildy or a friend, who may be in an entirely different zone at that time. That’s usually how it goes. I don’t mind them finishing up what ever dragon event they’re in, just as long as we don’t have to wait for that event to first start.

This. Theres very little where you cant get it started with 3 or 4 players and make some progress before they join you. Courtesy goes both ways and imho it should extend to giving someone 5 minutes or so to finish up something that is important to them.
