My understanding is that this bug has been around for a while, and it wasn’t too relevant in the past but now with raids and the recent agony infusion changes it is potentially much more important.

For those that are unaware, this bug occurs when you have only a mainhand or offhand weapon equipped in one or both weapon slots. This is commonly done so that you can weapon swap to get some effect (e.g. sigil of geomancy, quick draw) but keep one or both weapons equipped. Typically since you are using both weapons you get the stats from both, as well as effects from any sigils and infusions. However, some (all?) effects that replace your skill bar will only check one weapon slot during their effect, meaning that you lose the stats, sigil, and infusions from the second equipped weapon.

For example, a necromancer may have a main hand scepter in weapon slot 1 with a sigil of geomancy and an offhand dagger in weapon slot 2 with a sigil of agony and a +9 agony infusion. When the necromancer enters shroud, he is only considered to have one weapon equipped and loses all the stats it provides. If the dagger is the lost weapon, he will also lose the 20% bleed duration from the sigil, 9 agony resistance from the infusion, and 25% movement speed if he had the “Quickening Thirst” trait in blood magic.

If the necromancer instead had Scepter/Dagger in weapon slot 1 and only an offhand Warhorn, stats will only be lost if shroud is entered while the warhorn is the active weapon.

The same thing happens when a druid enters astral, most commonly with the Axe/Torch condi build which repeatedly weapon swaps to proc quick draw on bonfire.

Now that you can slot any level of agony infusion into a weapon, you could potentially just die to agony when entering astral or burn through your shroud in a couple seconds if you slotted in a large enough agony infusion, especially with the social awkwardness instability. With a +9 you will tick for 32.4% of your health per second with 3 stacks of agony from social awkwardness.

It’s also annoying to lose stats sigils – especially relating to condi duration – during shroud and astral.

At the very least I would like to make people aware that this bug exists, but it would be really nice if we could get an ETA on a fix for this bug. It isn’t like these are fringe builds, scepter/dagger necro is one of the most common fotm builds and is also used in raids and axe/torch druid is uncommon but not unused. If there’s no fix in sight can we at least be made aware that no change is on the horizon? Then I can at least just make larger agony infusions for my trinkets without feeling like I’m wasting money.
