Guild Wars 2

Since Ivan is going to be taking a break from doing his teaching tours…I thought I would step in and try to fill the void since they are very informative and fun! So here goes (I copy pasted and modified his old post):

I’m going to be doing an Arah tour (all paths) Saturday and Sunday at noon Eastern time (9am Pacific). I will take any and all comers, you can be whatever class you want provided you KNOW YOUR CLASS. I’m pretty qualified to teach thieves, pretty decent with guardians/warriors/mesmers/engineers. I also have general knowledge of the rest of the classes but I will expect you to know how to adapt to a situation that is presented to you.

I expect you to have:
Melee weapons
Undead Slaying potions
Life-steal food (Candied dragon rolls are great)
One ranged weapon for Melandru (will try melee if we have a Guardian)
A really good attitude
Teamspeak (Just need you to be able to listen at a minimum…since talking is quicker than typing.)

We will not be ranging Lupi at all, so be prepared for melee.

Leave the names here, and we’ll get started when we have a full party. We will start with p4 and work our way backwards. You don’t need to stay for the whole thing, so if you just need p4 for you DM title, I don’t mind if you leave after one dungeon. I’d hope I’ll have more people waiting for someone to drop. Be prepared to learn and have fun!

As I always said with Ivan, I’m always down if you need another and don’t have someone new. May even have a buddy who’s new if you have room (i’ve taken him through p2 but that’s more or less all he’s really done).

I’d be happy to join you! I’ll be playing Guardian, thief or warrior depending on what you need.

As with Jerus, I’ll join you if you don’t have enough newcomers.

If the spots for Saturday morning are not completely filled by newcomers, I would like to join the Arah Tour on my Thief (any path) and Guardian (P4).

I know how to play thief but I am not too experienced with it, and it’ll be my first time running as Thief in Arah. If there are no more spots for Thief/Guardian, I can bring other classes.

Also, I want to learn how these teaching runs go down because I’m not very effective when helping out friends get DM title. I can’t seem to get them to like running it.

Just tried to run P2 quickly over lunch with a friend. It bugged at Belka. =/

Belka is still working fine. You probably bugged it out the old fashioned way.

jiyn do you use the same TS as Dan?

Yeah, I have the info for that TS.

There’s a rumor that Simins is now bugged, but it’s hard to say if the group was struggling to DPS fast enough or if it really is progress blocking. Might want to investigate before tomorrow ;-)

Saturday’s session went well. Thanks to Arenzo, Maire and LadyTrouble for coming. Can’t wait for tomorrows session.

Yay Melandru melee! had a blast as always and learned new things.

+1 for learning new things! I had a great time on the tours and learned so much. Now I have to learn to play my thief!

Thanks again, awesome runs – totally worth staying up to 5am for I really recommend everyone to join this tour. Lots of fun, and very newbie friendly. Great job!

Thanks to everyone who participated, it was a lot of fun! Since it was a great success, I will be posting up another thread later in the week for next weekend!
