Could you provide more info on what boss you are talking about/what classes were in your party?
its all in the movie (movie being private: fixed :)
boss in Cliffside Fractal
Group:
2x Ele
Mes
Guard
Warr

Well looking at your group/video I have two guesses.
-It looks like the mes is probably running a shatter type of build, looked like the clones were running in right before the spike
-Other guess would be the warrior using her burst skill, these can do a lott of damage especially the axe burst Eviscerate
I haven’t really played ele much but to my knowledge they dont have any huge burst skill like that, and i know guard doesn’t, so Id say its the mes/war or a combination of both

That boss has no projectiles to reflect. It looks like a combination of a warrior burst skill and the mesmer’s shatters at the same moment. Note that the difficulty is also quite low, so these bosses take significant percent damage from players.
well… if it was some burst dmg or multiple shatters from mesmer… it would not appear on boss hp bar as one hit, right? his hp would be going down fast, but not from 100% to 93% instantly?

Eviscerate + Mes Shatter could be seen as instanthit.
But whatever it was, 7% HP doesn’t seem very much to me.
Let me spoil it for you, a bottle.
The short answer he is NOT taking this damage in one hit. This is simply a rendering issue. Normally health bars fade out a portion of health and then remove it. It looks like fade out isn’t rendering on your machine.

That doesn’t explain why 2 people on the video noticed it at the same time.

They are looking at the same health bar. If they both have rendering issue, then of course they would see it at the same time.

Yea I still don’t think that’s it, I can produce something similar to this on a dredge boss.
At first glance you might miss the bug, there hasn’t been 1 pug group I’ve been with that has even noticed what’s happening. I think something the same but different is going on with the Archdiviner.
And hot-fixed!
I put up a post on these forums letting Anet know about it when I uploaded the video. (according to youtube that was 2 months ago) It was closed about an hour later, still not fixed

then someone in the OP video should have noticed… in the dredge video its clear whats going on – when the boss has the burning circle, the player is doing 20K burning ticks (!!!). no wonder his hp drop fast as hell. thats like 3 chars popping constant 100b on him.
It was ~10k bleeding ticks on the archdiviner. Additional to around 80k dps.
Is that just a solo thing for the champion dredge, cause I run SE 1/3 a lot and I never noticed that in a full group. But then again I do try to condition cleanse as soon as the fire rings are up. Is it something just undocumented like the poison multiplier for Malrona?
It’s something that was introduced into the game around Xmas. I’ve personally only ever seen one other person do it other than myself and I don’t know of they meant to or not.
I’ve pugged the path 30-40 times since then and no one has ever said anything about it. It’s not something I try to do its a cant help it situation with the build I use.
I can see Sigil of Generosity doing its job in General Molrad vid, but I can’t seem to locate anything in Archdiviner’s case.. I would assume it’s some kind of reflect acting weird if you guys cut rendering/latency issues out.
Let me spoil it for you, a bottle.

So many theories! And none except one (which isn’t exactly theory) valid.
is it fixed or not? also did he cut out the part where he did anything special and resumed after?
