What Does Ascended Mean Today?
I’m a bit mad about this change of philosophy myself, but the skins won’t go away, you can still transmute them. And overall it could be worse, old dungeons won’t become easier, because the normal stat differences are minor and agony resistance won’t affect them.
It means people buy more Fine Transmutation Stones = $$$
Personally I had to take a break from all those ubër nerd rage topics and find small quiet place to share my opinion.
a.) No. Anet would never make us forget about the older dungeons. I’m pretty sure they’ve got something new for them in the upcoming humongous patch.
b.) Yeah, this could be one of the mechanism to encourage the players to keep running older dungeons. Doesn’t seem like a bad idea actually, as long as they keep the token prices actually obtainable with maybe 2-4 dungeon runs.
c.) No, don’t think this would be the case. They aren’t releasing any ascended weapons afterall, so it’d be kinda dumb to trade a weapon for a ring or maybe a back item.
d.) Weell.. If they’re reading any of these ‘’rage threads’‘, they might already have figured out that people are absolute against grinding. Their best shot at this particular issue would be either low token costs for the new gear, or make it so that once you complete the dungeon a fixed amout of times, you’d get to choose a piece of equipment you want, a bit like in the personal story quests.
Yes, I’ve been watching over GW2 since the date they announced it. I’ve read every blog post they’ve made since the beginning. I know they had that manifesto and all, and yet I think this is definitely a right step for them to take. The patch looks great and there’s no denying it. I just don’t see the point of all that rage going on right now. First people whine how there’s no REAL endgame, then they stomp the kind of endgame Anet tries to offer to the ground. That’s just stupid and childish. Peace out.
