What are all the fractals supposed to be?
They are images of the worlds in the mists.
But what about the place with the giant dude, what was he supposed to be, the Asura one is supposed to be rata sum, so are the other ones supposed to be actual places in the game or are they possible realities in the mists?
I know there is a story behind the Jade Maw. Is there established lore for some of the other fractals or enemies? Urban Battlefield seems based on established events, mind you I did not play GW1 although I have read some of the lore and find it quite interesting. I’d really like to know Mossman’s story and in depth stories of other fractals if there are such stories.
Dude it is the mists. The mists are the other side. But unlike being just haven there is the memory of everything ever existed. The big dude is the real giant. They wher extinged long befor Gw1 started as you play the fractle you see why.
Basically FOTM is like taking you to the past and experienced something that have happen in history.
I really make that up, but I think that make sense.
The Onion of dungeons. :P
The real worlds exist by beginning in the mists (the proto-reality that we can visit).
The mists can then take snapshots of history, present or future (usually moments of significance or value) and “remember” them, and these can be visited and explored using portals.
Some of the fractals we know little about, if anything. Some fractals are more obvious (the searing event, etc).
The Fractals are slices of reality taken from multiple timelines. Some are pieces of history (Urban Battleground), some are possibilities of the future (Asura), some are alternate realities entirely (likely Cliffside)
