I don’t need any more armor or weapons so when I accumulate dungeon tokens (e.g., Symbols of Koda) I buy a weapon and salvage it. I have a few Black Lion Salvage kits that I’ve obtained from daily reward chests, which I use for this.

What I’ve found is that you have no better chance of getting greater rewards from an expensive weapon like a great sword (390 tokens) than you do from an off hand weapon like a warhorn (210 tokens). The salvage from these weapons can include Sigils (~3 silver), Globs of Ectoplasm (~40 silver), globs of dark matter (used for crafting) and Orichalum Imbued Inscriptions (from ~10 gold for Berserker’s Orichalum Imbued Inscription, which come from weapons with Berserker stats, to ~ 3.5 gold for Soldiers Orichalum Imbued Inscription).

What I’ve found is that I never receive the Berserker’s Orichalum Imbued Inscription (from, e.g., Flame Legion Berserker-stat Weapons) but sometimes do get the Soldier’s Orichalum Imbued Inscription (from, e.g., Kodan Soldier-stat Weapons).

This can’t mean anything but I’ve done better salvaging items when it’s nighttime in Tyria rather than daytime

What is your strategy/experience in getting the most out of your dungeon tokens?

I buy rares for 30 tokens that are over lv 68 and salvage them for ectos.
For the tokens that only let you purchase rares of a lv lower than 68, I just buy weapons for time to time and mystic toilet them in hopes the RNG will one day remember I exist.

From what I understand you can only get back inscriptions/insignias from stat combos that cannot be crafted. So, you can’t get a berserker’s intricate gossamer inscription back from an exotic berserker armor piece, but you CAN get a soldier’s intricate gossamer inscription back from a soldier piece.

When I have a surplus of tokens, I buy armor (since I can either use the silk or sell it) with stats that have a chance to give me back the insignia, and then I break them down.

I use them to unlock more skins for my wardrobe by buying the armors/weapons that have non craftable stats on them and this way making few gold from the ectos and insignias. I’ve never trusted MF enough to start tossing my tokens down there.

I do nothing. I’m saving up for 69,666 shards of zhaitan. At 28k so far.

Since I have quite a few twinks (alts or whatever you wish to call them), I used a lot of mine to equip those, sometimes with multiple sets for pve and wvw. Other than that I spend quite a few to mystic forge them before I got the pre to the legendary that I wanted to craft.

Yes and No
It doesn’t increase it every flush in the Toilet, but I can flush more with the same amount of tokens. And I think we all have enough Stones :p

I’m currently unlocking the dungeon weapons/armor, then salvaging the items for their inscriptions/insignia + Dark Matter/Ecto. I’ll need plenty of the latter for my Ascended crafting, and the inscriptions/insignia help pay the gold cost.

Buy exotic greatswords, go to the mystic forge, get exotic pearl greatsword, cry.

I’m more surprised about the disturbing lack of transmutation charges :P

I had about 100 before but used them all recently. There was an outfit/weapon overhaul XD

Fashion gurus run out of trans charges very quickly.

Dungeon tokens are a decent way to “farm” a precursor.

You’re going to be doing dungeon runs for the gold anyway, so it doesn’t hurt to buy exotic dungeon weapons and throw them into the MF for a chance a quick payday.
