What ever happened to CoF P2?
p1 was never impossible, in fact, it hasn’t changed since launch.
p2 is actually easier now. All the stuff that spawns are white mobs, and die in a couple of hits. The only silvers are the assassins, which don’t even damage you.
The only thing that can be annoying is the defend event in p3, because that are actually all silvers that can hurt like hell.

Wrong. ANet severely nerfed the flame effigy a month or two post-launch because it was healing significantly more than it does now.

Oh, well, I’m glad to hear about that event being less kitten. But I will certainly not agree that P1 was the same. Couldn’t even dent the purple thing back in the day. Now it’s faceroll.
I’m curious as to how much trouble the groups nowdays would have with the ‘original’ flame effigy.
Use to have massive regen when it had its crystals around, and required a mix of dps and conditions like poison to bring him down effectively, and it was hard back then when I was in all greens (not sure about other ppl lol) but we could get it down to 25%
It would be fun to try it now that a lot of ppl are more exp and have better gear

My bad. I barely played back then, but my guildies did a lot of CoF back at launch. I never heard them complain about it though..

What’s stupid is that people actually did not know those silvers were meant to be killed instead of kited.
What they should have done was pace the spawn rate in the “ex-kite” room. I mean, it won’t be a problem if there is 1 champion spawn, but spawning insane amount of silvers and killing one is not easy let alone trying to kill 6 of them before 6 or more spawn. I have seen the videos where players managed to exterminate anything that spawns in the room but they are coordinated and know what to do, but in a PUGs group, I have been in, some tried to kill it but most of the time, the PUGS get 1 shotted, as I play a squishy ele, I tend to get one shotted after the remaining falls. Which is 5 seconds into the battle. I also have been in groups that managed to clear the room without kitting.
However, 95% of the time, groups will prompt 2-2-1 or 3-2 or some other combination before even reaching the room. Signaling their intention to kite the mobs.

Woah, so it had like, a real mechanic that made use of the environment around it? Yeah that does sound like something ANET needed to remove.
