Two days ago I run Twilight Arbor explore (forward/forward) and after killing the last boss, we get 0 tokens. There was never a cut scene, so the loot window never pops up. So we get no tokens, no karma, and no money. Today we run Honor of the Waves explore and get 1/2 the rewards (30 tokens ect). Then we run Twilight Arbor (forward/forward) again and this time I get 6 tokens and 188 karma. Since I have never received a response for any ticket I guess I will just have to ask here. What is going on with my rewards, and when will this be fixed? Am I going to receive my proper rewards, or should I just give up on that dream?

Did you do the mad king ascent thing in LA recently?

We did it some, took a break for a bit, then did hotw. We then took another break and did ta. Does this mean that MK puts my whole account on diminished returns for any dungeon in the game?

Yep. It’s a dungeon, and gives you dungeon rewards at the end.

It does not not get me the tokens that I need for gear. Dungeon DR is based on the path that you do, so now a new dungeon just randomly counts for DR for every instance and every path? So we just get to do 1 dungeon in the game now?

Diminishing returns are supposed to be per dungeon path not across all dungeons. When did that change?

Also had this happen to me. I run Mad King and then get DR for all paths in all instances? I thought DR was supposed to encourage you to move to a different dungeon or to a different path? Not discourage you from doing dungeons period. When you are level 80, with the world explored, and just working toward legendaries, you shouldn’t have DR on everything. Getting Gifts would take forever and wouldn’t be worth it.

There are 2 types of dungeon DR.

Type 1 – Running the same path more than once in a row.

Type 2 – Running any number of dungeons in less time than X.

Type 1 is specific to that dungeon path. Type 2 is applied to all paths and is account based. Type 1 is to prevent overfarming in the event that a bug is discovered in a single path that allows that path to be farmed easily/quickly. Type 2 is to prevent an overarching bug that allows players to complete dungeons faster than programmed.

Back to my legendary creation point. It’s a bad mechanic that discourages doing MK period.

Was this an intended result from Arena? Or a minor Bug seeing as the Dungeon is not classified in any Dungeon Preferences for the DR Table? Seeing as it’s a One-Time Event Dungeon. I find that the DR extends beyond the boundaries of Mad King Dungeon is really disappointing to be honest. As stated by Harbin,

“I thought DR was supposed to encourage you to move to a different dungeon or to a different path? Not discourage you from doing dungeons period.”

Finishing several runs of Mad King results in Diminish Returns but those returns are like doing ALL DUNGEONS without any of the token benefits. This seems like Mad King has totally blown the limits of DR entirely. I mean if you have a system in place why didn’t Arena conform the Dungeon to the DR table of other Dungeons? Is it possible the increase drops of Exotic’s from chests have to do with this? I don’t believe increased Item drop would be worth changing the DR values for all dungeons to be equal to that of Mad King. I expected to take a break from MK for a casual dungeon run of TA but to finish Forward/Forward for the first time of the day and get 6 Deadly Blossoms for my effort? I think Arena should review this with more consideration next patch or at least give us a decent answer as to why the DR table for Mad King applies to overall dungeons.

Just did TA up and got no tokens, no cut scene, nothing. It’s the first thing I’ve done all day so can’t be any farming code. Must be a bug and needs fixing. The same with the whole of my group.

Our group did MK then we roamed to do Jormag did HoTW finished it for the first time for 30 Tokens. After HoTW a quick stop in Lions Arch for awhile then we hopped over for some TA with a nice juicy 6 Token finish. I never thought I would delete Tokens from my inventory.

I assume it’s a bug, but it’s probably purely in the way DR is implemented and the way the dungeon rewards you with loot.

With all the MK runs that I’ve done, I’m looking forward to a LOT of DR on my future dungeon runs.

Its definitely a bug, left dungeon by walking out, no choice to instant leave. When outside got the box telling me to join the explorable and it didn’t reset when everyone left, like it would with a completion

I wish there was an indicator to let me know when I’m going to recieve diminished rewards so I know to go do something else.
