Undead or Inquest?

I’m pretty sure he’s inquest since afaik Inquest Slaying potions buffs damage up when hitting him and the first Alpha encounter shows he’s fighting with Risen Thralls so that’s an indication that he’s of a different faction to them. I also remember getting Inquest Slayer achieve upon killing him once upon a time.

But I’ve heard people also say he’s undead so I could be dreaming all along. So what is he really and what potion really works?

Alpha is considered undead.

He’s a Melandru priest.

He is undead. He is actually fighting with inquest at the start of the dungeon, and once they die he animates them as risen thrall allies.

stack up on powerful potions of undead slaying. Ive seen so-called ‘pros’ running inquest pots for CoE alpha fights and it makes me lol. the only time it could be viable is for the inquest golem boss fight, but hes easy as kitten and the fights not too long at all. doesnt even make sense really.. for P2/P3 the only inquest event has a fixed time limit so unless u just stand there and choose to kill yourself, you wont have a problem at all..and since the majority of CoE is really about the alpha fight, I feel its kind of a kitten on their part.

Get ready for that 10% “increased” damage from him though. Dungeon potions are broken at the moment.

Not really a big deal, if we’ve coped with 10% increased damage dealt to us until now, it doesn’t make it any harder just because we know it’s there now.

Alpha is a big scary monster.

I hate potions of slaying almost just as much as I hate sigils of slaying.
